Which animals figurines or brands do you collect ?

My favorite brands are:

modern:
Kaiyodo (solid)
Colorata

vintage:
PlayVisions
Starlux

not a brand:

anas animals ( i dont have the work of other members at the moment)

It is hard to say what brand, - to me it is more or less what I can get hold on, and what I can afford :

New brands
Schleich, - because I already have so many of them ;-)
Bully(land) - especially the birds, dogs, cats and dinoes
Papo, Wild animals are enormously charming , - horses
Safari, many rare species.
CollectA - their birds are fantastic !!! And they have some nice dogs also.
AAA - Many are very unusual, - and also because they are hard to find here
The Japanese, - they are wonderful, but the shipping costs are impossible

The old brands :
Reisler
Starlux
Britains

Arrrh, - I like them all

Thank you Susanne!! Yes its right with the shipping costs for the japanese animals, and its difficult to find. And a lot of japanese sellers gives only a very small rabatt.But if you hold in your hands and see with your own eyes this phantastic work. And any old Schleich animals are also very expensiv.

Custom made figurines it has to be Anna's then Andrew's elephants

Schleich - maybe they are not 100% correct but I like them very much. It was first brand of this kind I ever heard of and thanks to it I discovered others :)
Papo - very nice wild animals, especially lions and tigers (mewants!)
Bullyland - some nice wild animals (and human figurines, but that's another topic )
Collecta - the new models are fantastic, especially horses by Deborah McDermott ( )
Safari Ltd. - again, especially wild animals.

I also adore Japanese brands, but their shipping costs would definitely kill my small funds.

I don't know other brands too well but I often spot some nice models from them.

I'm not interested in knights and soldiers, so I don't know any particular brand, even Polish ones. But I know they are made in my country too :)

My favourite brands are Schleich, Breyer and Safari. You know I only collect horses, and my personal opinion is that those brands have the better models. In addition Schleich are the ones I can get easily, because most Safari models are not sold in my city, and I have to buy Breyers when I travel xD Soooo Schleich is my favourite one hehe

For that reason Schleich would have to be my favourite too, simply becasue it is the only brand that i have been able to find in any shops anywhere in Australia that i have been.

but thanks to this forum, a lot of online places have come to my awareness, so i'd have to say i am begining to really look forwards to owning some Papo big cats

I see a lot pics the collections in this forum or on the homepages. And so i ask me, which brands are important, and which not. An example. I dont see VEB Plaho by our admin and also (i believe) in the collection of kiki.
I know, any of us are specialized of one or more brands.

Which animals and brands are in our collection, which animals / brands are not "allowed"?

I only collect species , but of all brands. I dont need then many /all figurines of this species. I dont like puzzles ala kaiyodo and i like a small scale and the animals very detailed.

I have a few rules, firstly I don't collect everything only things that I like from brands.
I only collect horses from Schleich and now CollectA
Wildlife from all of the modern brands, but only big cats from Papo and I only collect Papo dinosaurs as well.
I love a lot of the models from brands like Lineol, Starlux, Britains and so on, but I have to stop somewhere, I can't collect eveything I like.
I would make an exception for a model from Lineol but I wouldn't seriously collect them, I couldn't rather!

I would love to collect Kaiyodo but they are really hard to come by.

I collect a lot

Reisler : I have many, most are from my childhood.

Schleich : I collect all the "real" Schleich, only not the dinoes.
But for many years it has been hard to find things I don`t have.

Bullyland : All animals and the people belonging to those.
I like especially their prehistoric figueres, dogs and birds. And insects. And sea animals. And...

VEB Plaho: I have many of those, but still need some of the very rare and expensive ones.

Papo, - if I were rich, I would love to have them ALL
So far I have concentrated on the nicest ones and the retired ones.

Safari : Only the rare (rare as figueres) species. And ones I really like. I would love to get the Doedicurus and the Arsinoitherium

AAA/ELC : Figueres I like, - or if they are VERY cheap and nice

McDonalds, - all I can find

Yowies, whichever I can get hold of. I like the UK-yowies best.

Starlux/clairet : this brand is new for me. If it was not a bad thing to do, I would rob a bank and get a lot of those

Other brands, - I love to get brands I have not seen before.

In general I like to collect donkeys, foxes, monkeys, birds, otters and other wood animals.

So I have 3 rooms stacked with boxes of figueres with bouble plast between them, - but I usually know exactly where each and every one is - hmmm, usually

Every brand is allowed in my collection Even Schesfdjkghrtich But I'm just kiddin'

Of course, I have a special feeling for some brands like CLAIRET, maybe the only one I would love to complete, BLANCHERIE FRERES and LINEOL of course.

I love to find new and unusual brands, new species but the models need to please me to enter my jungle.

I had a lot of VEB PLAHO and I still have some in my collection.

I don't collect unpainted animals but there are some exceptions like LINDE's birds, WGJH and a few DOMPLAST, AUBURN, MARX...

My collection is a living thing, not only a growing one, some models stay one month, one year and some "forever"

What I absolutely don't collect is non toys models (like Country artists by example) except models made by friends of the forum .

I'm looking at the models themselves rather than the brand, i.e. I'm not going to collect all possible models by a certain brand. Nevertheless, I've made some restrictions brand-wise :)

Schleich - I'm interested mostly wildlife, still hesitating about farm animals and dogs. I'm not collecting their horses anymore.

Collecta - definitely horses from Deborah McDermott collection, also some wildlife, their birds are amazing

Safari Ltd - wildlife (including some sealife models), and both series of horses (Blue Ribbon and Winner's Circle). I love the fact that they have some species unavailable by other major brands :)

Bullyland - I'm interested in their human models, especially those related with horses. I bought their caribou/reindeer which I really like, but no other animal caught my attention.

Papo - I'm definitely going to buy their tigers and lions, and orca too, we'll see with the rest of their wildlife.

other brands - only the models which I would like, and as long as I'd be able to buy it :) And the price should be reasonable

Started with Schleich, now prefer Papo with a touch of CollectA and Bullyland birds...
