| Well, i do collect all kinds of animals, and when the model is good, i like them equally... But i can understand the love for the antelope/gazelle-family, because they are not so often made, and the family is very divers and colourfull. The problem in the big cat models, specially the tigers, is that they look all the same, and there are no sub-species made, or not more then the Siberian or the Bengal tiger, which look quit the same in the modelling business. Im portant to me is the right scale and the quality of the model, although i do collect the lesser models too, as in older brands sometimes... I agree that Papo makes the best big cats at the moment, although i think that their lynx is not the best, because its head is to small IMHO. There are some models of lying cats, like the Schleich lioness, and the AAA Tiger. I think the picture of that tiger is somewhere in the section of the modern makers. |

| Nothing much happening tonight, - my son has occupied the TV with a Bang-bang-film, so I was browsing through some old Papo-subjects. Unfortunately most of the old photoes are gone, but discussion cought my attention. Fun to see, that now there are both Asian elefants and a pride of lions - bmathison1972 wrote:
- OK, I am going to join this response. As most of you know, I have a taxonomically-limited collection (insects and other arthropods). It would be nice if Papo started making these. The only two major companies that do not have insect lines (at least not in the last couple decades) are Papo and Schleich. Even CollectA released a new insect this year (which is very nice, by the way :).
BAM A comment here : Bullyland also made some very good insects, even if they are very large As I was not a member then, let me take it up ( take the relay in English?) I would like to see Farmlife : - Some of the many beautyful kinds of chickens ( fethered feet etc) - Potbellied pig - Vatusi cow and calf Dogs/cats: - Gazehounds : Saluki, whippet, Borzoi, podenco, pharohound etc. - Bloodhound - Siamese cats ( of course) Prehistorical : - Amebelodon or other elefant-osaurusses - mastodonsaurus ( the one that looks like a cross between a frog and a croc ) Wildlife - Quagga - Ardwark - Gibbon - Indri - Mongoose Wood - Fallow deer - Ermine |

Nice list Susanne! Love to see a Mongoose too, a yellow mongoose would be nice as they're such a lovely colour. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Definitely a Quagga and ever since Roogle posted those pictures of the Watusi cattle I would certainly love to see Papo make them _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

Papo would have to make the whole family like they have with their simmental cattle. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Aside from my usual list of more big cats in different positions, larger elephants and rhinos, updated polar bears... Striped hyena, Indian rhino, Baird's tapir, Kodiak bear, Malayan/Bornean sun bear, Hamadrya baboon, California sea lion, Secretary bird and a Pronghorn. Then toad to their prehistoric category: Columbian mammoth, Homotherium, Teratorn and an American lion! |

| I tried to diversify my assortment. I still would love to see more big cats, since that's a real Papo strength! |

| I don't see the point in Papo making another big cat when there are cat-family animals to be made, like African wild cat, serval, caracal _________________ Robert
