| About a month ago I got a number of NOCH horses (animal kits for the railway) in HO (1:87) scale. The horses were well detailed, but the way they're painted disappointed me greatly. So I decided to repaint them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here's the first result. A dapple grey pony. Unfortunately the painting isn't very detailed- he's far too small:( [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Together with a Breyer Stablemate foal (1:32 scale, just to compare the sizes). | They are so cute, nicely detailed sculpting for such a small figurine. Your repaint is sweet! Looks like an Dartmoor pony. It's hard painting things so small, I've painted a few animals in HO, mainly cattle - I posted pictures of them a while ago. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Wonderful little figueres, and you did such a great job, - did you use a looking glass to see ? It is certainly an improvement in the looks of that pony Great job |

It's hard painting things so small, I've painted a few animals in HO, mainly cattle - I posted pictures of them a while ago. Yes, they are very cool. I like both NOCH people and animals, even more than the Preizer ones. Thanks) Hope you like this pony. It might have been more detailed but he's far to small for me, I'm not that good artist. Well, maybe he's really a Dartmoor, or Higland. I don't know) Oh, I'll find you photos- interesting to see) - SyLoBe wrote:

Yes) And that's very interesting to paint such small figurines- for me at least)) I hope to finish the next one tomorrow (too much work to do). - SUSANNE wrote:

It is certainly an improvement in the looks of that pony Very Happy Great job cheers Thank you very much:) No, no glass- just my eyes:) I use looking glass only for painting some accessories in war miniature (like badges, reins, stirrups, etc). |

Thank you) This manufacturer makes different stuff for the railways, including men figurines and animals. Here are some more customs, now mainly full-sized horses. The second pony, kind of champaign colour. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A hack. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A draft horse. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Grazing draft horse. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]All my customized HO scale equines. I've spent a lot of time to paint them, but I'm pretty satisfied with the result. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I admire your patience, they are so tiny! That Stablemates foal looks so huge next to them! And I though that repainting Stablemates must be hard... _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

Well, to tell the truth painting Stablemates is a bit hard for me. I'm working on a pair of them now, and have some problems with their shading/ lighting. And painting these tiny horses- it's kind of fun) SyLoBeYes, I like them most too. HKHollinstoneThanks) In fact I got used to painting small figurines (not THAT small, however), because my other hobby is war miniature, and sometimes I try to paint 28 and 54mm figurines myself)) |
