Where did you find unpainted Schleich giraffes? They must be really rare!

Those un-painted Schleics pop up from time to time on ebay, and tend to be expensive most of the times, but you can get lucky in some cases.
I had several of them too before...

Hi Christophe,

on the left side of the Collecta are two giraffes (Mother and child) from Bullyland. On the right side are Mother and child from an other german producer named: HARTUNG SPIELE from Berlin. They made a huge wooden zoo, very playish, but with rubber animals, quite nice, but not so good like Schleich or Papo.

These giraffes are only the brands that make the bigger models, you should see the models that are made in the smaller scales, like Britains, and so on.

Those are my giraffes, and i still miss a lot of the modern makers and some of the older makers...

Aber dir scheint auch ein Schleich Model zu fehlen, ich denke mir dass Mal, weil es nicht auf dem Foto ist, und auch nicht auf deiner Homepage, nämlich die dunkele Version von der alten 14028 Giraffe mit den dunkelen eckigen flecken, also nicht die Giraffenkuh mit den gerundeten Flecken.
Die ersten 2 Versionen waren überigens männlich, deutlich zu sehen, aber gemarkt als weiblich...
Ich hatte es zuvor in meiner Sammlung, die ist aber Geschichte wie du weisst...

but you seem to miss a Schleich model too, i like to think so, as it is not in the picture, and not on your homepage too.
It is the darker version of the 14028 giraffe with the more cornered spots, so not the later female one with the rounded spots.
The fist two versions were male by the way, even though marked as female...
I had it in my former Schleich-collection as you know, but that is history...

thanks for the compliment. For me it´s only a coulor variant. One is darker, one is lighter.

I know, i know Torben that you are not very kean on that, and that you don't matter too much about that either...
But this is a very significant variation, not just a little colour-variant.
It is not a variation by country of production, but by the company itsself.
More like the dark and light retired donkey, or the red and brown retired female roebuck, or the fjordhorse with and without eelstripe i think(and this one is a variation by country of production, haha)...
Like i said, i had then before, and there was much difference next to eachother...
Well, it is the only one i am missing to now, so i have to hunt for it too, and they don't pass that much as i saw already...
So if you don't want it, i do, you can save it for me when it passes your eyes, ok...

Ok... this one hurts What a unbelievable collection of giraffes. I can see some i have, some I really want to and some I will probably never have I´m speechles... this is stunning collection, congrats

It is no longer a herd of giraffes, but the gathering of a family of many generations of giraffes from all over the world. Beautiful and remarkable collection. A feast for the eyes. We look forward to more pictures of animal groups from your collection.
