Many of you have already seen the pics of a capybara figurine, made by the Russian artist Vivien the Dark, that I've posted here some time ago. Unfortunately she isn't that good in English, so cannot write on this forum herself, but with her permission I would like to share with you some more photos of her artwork- both customs and handmade figurines. Me too It is gorgeous I wonder if she ever considered making a saluki She is a fantastic artist ! Her repaints are stunning ! So much attenntion to detail, she really knows how a horse looks The original Isadora Cruse rearing horse is SO beautyful. It must be neccesary to take an awfully deep breath to start repainting so gorgeous a model, but she succeeded making yet another great horse. Thankyou very, very much to you and to Vivien

Thanks for sharing great Vivien's works with us! Tell Vivien that in this forum there are a lot of people that is not able to have a nice conversation in English! Only some examples, me, Roger, Crocobert and another that uses a crocodile in his avatar that I cannot remember the name. What is important is not the language but her talent. She is very welcome! :)

Absolutely gorgeous! Dark bay and seal brown are among my favorite horse colors, I don't think there exists one model it doesn't look good on... and WG looks her best in plain colors, without a lot of dapples or spots that distract from the beauty of the sculpture itself. Like her flippy tail too! Most of all, though, I admire the lovely smooth finish. Does she airbrush or pastel? (Please don't tell me that's brushpainted, or I'll implode from jealousy!)

Most of all, though, I admire the lovely smooth finish. Does she airbrush or pastel? (Please don't tell me that's brushpainted, or I'll implode from jealousy!) Thank you) I also like plain and dark colors, though dark/light grey with dapples might have been a good variation for her as well. And yes, I'm also not a fan of dozens of dapples in dark colors (only in grey), i don't think it can be seen that often in real life, that's why I wanted her to be of a plain color) As far as I know, Vivien doesn't use airbrush in her work. I think it's both acrylics and pastel /charcoal. I'll ask her about the details) |

The woman is a real artist, that is no question at all! And i guess, the Breyers are the non plus ultra for horse collectors. They do look very nice indeed, but the shinyness and the muscles to much shown do not appear to me at all. But those other smaller animals are funny to see, really funny! :)
