| I have some progress on my Indian diorama and I wanted to post some photos. First I finished the new river bank, I posted the photos of the old bank and the mini one that I was going to try to recreate, well it is finally done. Here is a couple of photos of the new bank, I poured the final layer of water as well so now all that needs to be done is the landscaping up to the sandbanks. Here is a close up of the rivers edge [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And a wider shot showing the whole bank. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here is the opposite bank, with a half dead tree that I just finished. I am not sure I want to keep the tree on the diorama, at least not in this spot. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]These next two photos are of a pair of palms I just made, the first is another fan palm, but I did a much better job on the palm fronds so I am really happy with it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This is a Copernicia hospita, it is a tree from Thailand but I really like the shape of the fronds and especially the greyish color. | The water edge looks wonderful, so real, Phil. I love that second picture. The new palm trees are beautiful, your attention to detail is amazing on all your plants. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Phil, your work is A-May-Zing. Who is the animal behind the stand of foliage on the left in the 3rd picture? Do i see a little face peeking out left of the base of the tree in the middle of same photo? _________________ carolynn

| Thank you everyone for your kind words, it has taken me a lot of mistakes and help from real artists to get to this level of work and I have had such a good response from people giving me tips and tutorials so I can get it right. Mastiffcat, very good of you to spot those guys, the animal on the left is a Noah's Pals muntjak and the other is a bermese python I sculpted, maybe he is hungry for a Noah's Pals muntjak snack The snake is about 8 inches, so in scale it is about 15 ft, a good size for that species but quite a bit shorter then they get! |
