| Has someone noticed this variation in beagles?
Both of my beagles are those later versions ( 16332 ), but noses are different. One is "normal" and another is kind a "melted". I've seen also other those "melted nose" beagles, so mine is not the only one. Does anyone know, is there also variation in noses of the old beagles ( 16302 )? |

| Mine is somewhere in between,sincerely.I don't think it's a variation,more a minor one.Just like the eye colour in Harriet's Pinto horse! I bought my beagle in 2007. |

I bought my beagle in 2007. I think you mean Rio's Pinto, WH I like the eyes better on the one with the "Melted Nose" |

| Nice catch, Deseo. You are absolutely correct - these are two variants of the 332 beagle. |

I bought my beagle in 2007. Did Rhiannon and Harriet purchase a special pinto on a time-share basis?! |

| Where it is made is mostly under the model. When they are both made in different countries like Germany or China, then this would explain the difference in the painting. But there are variations in production from the same country of production too some times... Mine is made in China, has the eyes of the left one, but the nose of the right one, haha. | What I was asking was on these two beagles where it says on the underside....Made in...... are they both made in the same country or two different countries? So as you said that would explain the variant. So what does it say under both of the beagles? I also want to ask, when it comes to collecting the figurines, are they more valuable when they have a tag attached to them? When did they start being sold with tags vs the dot on the bottom of the foot? Sue |

| Thank you Phil! There is always written something under them Sue. Specially the newer Schleich lines from the 1980's and up, and from that time on the Schleich models have tags, i some variations. Or there is only Germany under them, or Schleich with a year that they were made in, and then Germany too. Later there was made in...Germany, China or Portugal, and now even the place in Germany were they were made(Schwäbisch Gmünd). They say that models with tag are worth a little bit more, but that is in the eye of the collector, because with tag could say, that the model is brandnew, and in a mint-condition. When i have the possibility to buy a model with tag, i do so, but not neccesarily, the main thing is, that the model i undamaged, and has no paint-rubs or scratches or soI always get the tag of, after i took the first pics, because the glue on the inside of the tags, tends to colour the model after a longer period. I keep the tags in an album for stamps together, with the number and name of the model. |

| I wondered if the tags would change the color on that part of the figure, and what a great idea about storing the tags in a stamp album! Thanks for sharing your knowledge ~ so appreciated. |

Hello Sue. If memory serves, the 1994-1997 16302 has the "Made in Germany" marking and the 2003-2006 16332 has the "Made in China" marking. |

| Both my beagles are made in China. So that don't explain the variant. |

Well, yes, obviously! But it does provide a means for telling 16302 and 16332 apart. The difference in nose-jobs for your two 16332's is simply a painting variation. Maybe they were done in different years by a different artist. It happens all the time with Schleich figurines. If you want to know the reason for your variations, you will probably have to go to Germany or even PRC to discover the answer, as you surely are not going to get it here in this forum..... |

| Yeah, there could be so many reasons to this variation but I don't really care of it now. It would be nice to know which one form of this 16332 beagle is the most general, maybe the one with normal nose? Any ideas? |

Yes, they do, as i saw before on older models with tags. You are welcome for the idea. :) When you want to remove the tag, stick something pointy between the model and the tag(carefully to not harm the model), and slowly pull it backwards, so that the tag opens up. When you removed it from the model, take that same pointy tool again, and pull it aside in the opening of the tag, and close it. Fold it nicely together, and put it in your stamp-album, with a little paper before it, with the number and name of the model. Organize your album, as in the Schleich categories, so that you can find them back easily. Even a long time after closing the tag, and folding it together, you can still open up the tag, and put it around your model again if you want. :) |

| I have found out the reason. [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] Both are the 16302. The left one has the identer with the number 3 and the right with the number 4. I thing the form from 1 until 4 of the 16302 are a little bit different and for the 16332 they have taken the same forms only the identer was other with made in China. |
