Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by hyenas. Ok, they are scavengers, but Nature needs those also I was extremely happy to find this little guy in a small flock of Minis that I got this week : Here is the tribe I have so far : The large hyena also came with mask, but I have never seen him for sale yet I have no info about the guy to the left. Perhaps he is older than the others ? It is interesting that the "masked painting" looks somewhat like the one from AAA. The Bullyland hyenas first came in 1993. At that time Bullyland also sold AAA-models, but they never sold the AAA-hyena, as far as I know .

In Portuguese we use the same word to all of them! Cria! I think cub is better for hyenas, the dog appearance make us think in pups but they are not canides or dog related. Pup are used also with seal and sharks! Cub is used with many carnivores! But, as none of them are scientific expressions both are accepted! :)

Roger, this is amazing I always thought hyenas were a sort of dog, - but it seems it is more in the family of a CIVET I would never ever have looked it up if you had not written this, because I was so sure of myself What a wonderful day ! I learned something I would never have thought I did not know Abut the name of offspring, - in Danish the offspring of tigers are kittens, but the offspring of lions are "unger", meaning "Young ones". "Unger" is used for all young animals that are not kittens, foals, puppies, calves, lambs or other offspring with their own name. A bird or a turtle or a lion or a monkey or blackbird or a fish etc have "unger".

This was on top of a pencil, as they had theses series to as you probably know. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
