| Here is the much awaited Okapi calf. I know the stripes may not be to everyone's taste but it is difficult to get the stripes exactly like the real thing particularly when so many have to be produced commercially. Anyway I think the pose of this is very nice and love that we finally get to have a calf. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Figure looks very nice, love the pose and the stripes aren't too bad! Only thing is that the head looks a little flat and awkward to me, is there to much white on it? Alos, the texture looks wrong like the adult, it should be silky and smooth. You can see what I mean by both os these here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Nice calf, a 7 1/2 from me. The coat is to rugged, as in the adult to. Okapi's do have very smooth and shiny coats. |

| very cute! i like that it looks like a young animal, not just a small adult.
but i also am put off by the rough coat. i understand it might be smoother in the final model, but i don't understand why it's rough at all? even life size, Okapis are so sleek and shiny, they don't have much "texture", so why is there any on a small figure? but then, i don't really understand the amount of texture on most models. the texture on most model horses, if the model were scaled up, the horse would have a long shaggy coat! _________________ carolynn

| It's beautiful, I love it - when I buy them I may repaint them both with a more realistic pattern. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

Yes, I don't collect babies, but babies of my friends are also mine.... ... it would not sound great! I mean that I love my babies' friends! ... it is hard to be so bad in English! I mean that I know it is your baby, Numaan! So, I don't mind if it is good or not because our babies are always beautiful, isn't it? In my wish list for sure and I'll call him Numaan... ... no, I'll call him Nubooy! Tomorrow I'll present also my baby to the forum but he is already grown because I'm a prehistoric creature! Some baby's are really nice and beautifull, but sometimes they are really ugly, we call them sweet in the Netherlands... Ok then, a quick joke... Little Jimmy wants to go see the newborn baby that was born at the house of the neighbours... But before that, his mother took him apart, and told him to shut his big mouth, because this baby had no ears, a birth defect... So no stupid remarks on the baby please Jimmy.... Jimmy promised not to do so, and he went to the neighbours... There he was at the babyroom, leaning over the crib, and watching the newborn baby... Then he asked the mother: Please tell me auntie... Does the baby has good eyes? The mother looked at little bit strange at the boy, and said: Well of course Jimmy, why are you asking that? Then Jimmy said: Ok then it is ok, because he has nothing to put his glasses on! |

In Portugal we also know a story about a macaque that lost his tail but is better not tell it in Christmas time! |

| This calf looks not mch better than the Bullyland Okapi calf, the head and face are very strange looking, thats not the way an okapi calf is look like, so together with the Okapi and Red Panda, the most dissapointing models of collecta in 2012. |
