| I do like the Forest Unicorn's. But i don't like the fact that they look like a Deer or something. Because the Unicorn has always been a Horse and they have to keep it that way. Cause that made it a special creature. _________________ Sarieanne.

| I agree with you, - they are very cute, but a unicorn should be a horse |

| Initially unicorn was more a deer-like or goat-like creature. Heraldic unicorn or Medieval unicorn is described as having: - a deer-like body - slender legs with cloven hooves - long, lion-like tail - a goat-like beard Other incarnations of the unicorn are more or less similar, mostly more or less deer-like looking. White horse with a horn is a modern "invention", it's my least favourite incarnation of this creature. Unicorn is not a horse, it's completely different creature Unicorns are my favourite mythical creatures, and recently I started to read more about them. So don't tell me that it should be a horned horse EDIT: Corrected some mistakes, I was in hurry when I was writing this _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook

| Nah, it's ok I don't consider myself an expert, I just read this and that about this topic. I like to see various interpretations of this creature as long as it isn't just a horse with a horn I like the idea of those models, but when I look at them I have a feeling that their anatomy isn't quite right (having in mind they are fantasy creatures) - comparing to the way real animals are "constructed", the angle between their neck and back is too close to right angle (about 90 degrees) - for me it looks painful :/ _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Thanks for these great pictures, magda! i love all of these fantasy figures because there are so many interpretations possible... so the forest unicorn are in my opinion very creative made (the asian bein too) and i like this kind of variations much more than to put just this flower-painting on old, already beautyful models (i do like the bayala unicorns, but it shouldn't be always just new flowers ) |

| There are many variations of unicorns, from different parts of the world and mytologi. I think everybody have their own ide of how a unicorn should look like. For me, a unicorn is a horse-creature, but not the slender, arabian-like horse. More like this one, and of course, they dont have to be white, there are also black unicorns, (or at least, in my fantasy world, one black unicorn) I think the more slender type fits pegasuses better [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.](maybe a little of topic, sorry for that) I found this pic of a painting my dad did a few years ago of how he imagine a unicorn. he goes more for the arabian-type) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| so far as i can remember what i read in my childhood about unicorns, their are a combination of a horse and a goat, just like most of mystic animals have parts of two or more animals. so these unicorns in my book had a horse like body, but a bit smaller, the horn of course, a beard like the one from a goat, and feet with two toes, not one like usual horses. but at the end its all interpretation of imagination, and its no fixed story, so i always like new views on old things |
