| Just when you thought your model farm yard geese (or ducks - some lists state this is a duck the fox is running off with) are safe this wily fox has helped themselves to your prized goose! John Hill and company trading under the name Johillco were in their heyday a major competitor to Britains. They had a vast range of figures which included many farm and zoo animals. In this model they created one which is full of movement, not often the case with hollow-cast figures moulded in lead. It is a highly sought after model that was made both pre and post WWII. Model number is 788 post war and 397 pre-war. Information from: 'The Great Book of Hollow-cast Figures' by Norman Joplin 1993. | That is a fantastic model The fox really RUNS ! IT MOVES - and that is perhaps the highest praise I can give to a model We don´t see many as good as that nowadays. Are the manufacturers afraid of offending or shocking ? When they are really wild, the bear or otter has a fish Thankyou also for all the valuable indformation, Chris |

| Chris, thanks for another very interesting topic about an unknown fox for me! That's a very interesting figure and I beleive these kind of hunting figures will return to the market. It looks only fishes are accepted in our days as we see with the pelicans or Safari brown bear! That's also the revenge of the fox, see here this magnificent Reisler figure in Susanne's website! :) Click here! |

| I certainly agree that this is a fantastic model and I am lucky to have it in my collection. Thanks Roger, Tim, Andreas, Susanne and Scott for your nice comments. Hopefully, Roger the model animal manufacturers are looking in here and have a few ideas on what they need to produce in the near future. Chris |

| I've seen one of these on eBay but the seller had it listed as a Britains model. I'd never heard of Johillco before, interesting, thanks for sharing Chris - he's a very nice little fox! Poor goose _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

I appreciate your comments and I am glad to share this model with follow forum members. I agree poor goose but foxes, even those made in lead, have to eat. Chris |
