Harriet, I believe they are both Schleich, but they are repaints. They did an awesome job on them. I fell in love with them and had to have them.

Yes Susanne, those are my newest Mojo's that I have not taken photos of. I have many more rohling figures as well. I will try to take more pictures as soon as I get a chance. There are some Bullyland rohling ones in there as well.

Harriet, I looked at the longhorn, one is a Schleich and the other is a Mojo. I will take better pictures of them and post them.

the "rohlings" are really ordinary models.
They are either made for test or they have been rejected in production, - the people working in the factury steal them from the garbage and sell them

I suppose that were first taken for custom-painting, but then they became collector`s items

The figure above looks like the old Hanoverian Mare to me, but the painted version in your picture is very different. (Mine is a dark brown Bay with a blaze.) Is this a variation?

Yes, the bay one has item no 13227, and the grey one is 13228.
They were both made from 1995 to 2004, so there are also variations, - Here are mine : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

it is very strange. in my old house we had some friends who lived next door. one day i visited and they had a massive box of schleich. i then asked if they collected them and they said no but you can have a look, so i had a look and saw some of the rarest animals made in the early 1960's. i was shocked amazed to see all these very valuable figures that i have wanted for ages in a box hidden under some tables. but when i was looking through i found the hanoveria mare but this time in white, i remembered that i had a darkish brown one. the strangest part was both mine and theres only had one ear

Although I have a lot of Schleich dinosaurs I'm not 100% up to date on marketing tactics! I've been offered a few unpainted Schleich dinosaurs (the Allosaurus from the ever diminishing smaller range and the Parasaurolophus and Stegosaurus from the new 'history' range). Do Schleich issue 'paint your own' dinosaurs or are these likely to be factory escapees?

Edit: I decided to order the Allosaurus anyway (a week or so ago) and it just arrived this morning!

Normally these unpainted Schleich figures are dangerous, because it's forbidden to sell or buy them, because Schleich figures never leave unpainted the factory. Mostly this figures left the factory, because they were stolen, but sometimes maybe a retailer gets an unpainted figure with the supply. But you never know how the seller got the figure and from where!

So I would recommend to be really careful, but it's a great addition for a collection I know.

These "Rohlings" are available now and then, and often reach rather  high prices.
Especially those that have a different base colour than the "real" ones , because they are probably from test runs, and almost unique
