| I think the owner did something to retire the original painting. I saw it while looking for the linebacked version of this mold :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| We had a string about these rohlings earlier. I can`t find it now, but the pepole who know about it says they are figueres that were thrown away, and the people there fish them out of the wastebasket and sell them. They can be either results of tests with colours or simply rejected for bad quality in the moulding. Do I remember right, experts ??? |

| I like these unpainted models, called Rohlings in German. When a model is painted, the paint itself may fill out some of the details. It may also make a mediocre model beaytyful, - or almost ruin an otherwise great model. A rohling shows the un-disguised truth about the sculpturing Unfortunately the ones from Schleich are often rather expensive. But over the later months I have got a few, mainly when they could be shipped with other stuff, which draws the price down a bit I look forward to hearing what y´all think about them [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This donkey is probably my absolute favourite Rohling [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Wow Susanne, I love all of them! But I am especially partial to the Wolf and the Fox. I'm really impressed that you got a hold of these. |

| I also love them and also the donkey is my favourite, these unpainted figures look better how more textured they are and it happens in furry animals. Also the real coloring is solide so doesn't shock to see it unpainted. :) I'm sure an unpainted mountaing goat would look great. :) Of course my more wanted would be the fox for obvious reasons. Congratulations! |

| Wow, these are pretty amazing! Congratulations, Susanne! I visited Toys R Us today and just wondered how the painting of the howling wolf is so weird compared to the other wolf, it looks like a bad repaint to me. Without the odd paintjob, it looks so much better : D - ken yeo wrote:

I agree. Somehow it looks more fox-like than the painted version... idk why. _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

| I´m no ta big fan of rohlings, because I feel people ask high prices for something which was refused... They don´t have the paintjob done so I consider them to should be cheaper.
Anyway, I admit they are wonderful, congrats :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

Anyway, I admit they are wonderful, congrats :) Thankyou, Silvia In principle you are right, - and with other brands they are often very cheap - but alas, supply and demand decides the price. And in this case there are lots of collectors who want EVERYTHING that has the slightest whiff of Schleich Just see one of the WWF-models that went for almost 900 Euros |
