| Hi all Please take a look at the six photos below which I came across online. They show some of the various body coat styles that can appear on this breed of dog. Of the photos shown, please vote for your favourite style/colour/pattern that can then be used as a basis for a future CollectA model. thank you ONE: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]TWO: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]THREE: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]FOUR: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]FIVE: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]SIX: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Could you add more choices please, or change some of the pictures? Dog in the first picture - those spots in the undercoat dog owners always try to hide with white powder, it doesn't look good... Dog in second picture - dogs with white head should have darker pigment, black ring around the eyes, if they are of good quality. It's very hard to make it look good on a model animal, and not to make it too toyish. Dog in third picture - good color but black mask between white and red makes the muzzle narrow, it would be better if there's no black mask - just red/white contrast Dog in fourth pic - not bad color pattern, good color but the pose is bad, no life in that dog Dog in fifth pic - dogs with that color usually have light eyes, which isn't good for AST Dog in the last pic - good pattern but black isn't my favorite color in AmStaffs Don't blame me for trying - Red/white color of dog No 3, without the black mask made in this pattern... | Where is the brindled pattern? That is my favorite color in any dog where it is an acceptable pattern. |

| If Italians prefer their Cane Corso and Neapolitan Mastiff cropped, I agree. If Germans want their Schnauzers, Dobermanns, Boxers, Pinschers docked or cropped, I agree. Also, if Americans want their Boston Terrier docked and American Staffordshire Terrier cropped, I agree... _________________ Robert

I do NOT !!!! Let people get piercings and tatoos as much as they want, but leave the innocent animals with thir bodies intact ! It is bad enough that we breed crippeled animals because some pople think they are "cute", but cutting their ears and tails off is stupid and ridiculous and a silly sort of fashion-freeking from days when ladies wore corsets and Chinese ladies had their feet ruined to look "beautyful". SO! Now you know MY opinion about this matter |

| We're all entitled to our own opinion. It's forbidden to crop now so I don't do it anymore. I can't make you like them (nor I will try to), and no one can make me not like them _________________ Robert

| Ooh, this is going to be great! I love staffies. As far as color goes, I'm very partial to dark brindles... still, color isn't exactly a dealbreaker for me, I can always repaint. Just as long as the ears are the way they're supposed to be! I can accept altered ears or tails if a model is meant to represent one specific individual or if it's meant to be a historical piece*, but as a representation of the breed as a whole, no way. * - I have model horses with docked tails, for instance, but they're meant to portray animals from one particular period rather than just generic horses. |

| I voted :) But yes, I agree about the ears. I'd rather have a model of a dog with natural ears. |

| Very exiting Brindle is a wonderful color but I can always repaint him. So I voted for 5. I would also prefer natural ears. _________________ Emilia

| I voted for 2, but I do like 6 a lot too. (And would be very happy with 5.) Moral issues aside, I confess I like the look of the "cut" ears. But I had no idea before this thread that the ears were cut. |

| I like the red fawn dog with a black mask, so I guess, dog number 3 is the closest to that(Not really wild about the confirmation of the dog, I think the DON KING OF RING'S is closest to the AKC breed standard). I definitely prefer cropped ears, since it gives dogs a regal, noble, alert, and clean cut look. As mentioned in the forum, it "opens a can of worms", with what people prefer and I will respect that, but cropped(Compared to floppy/stand up bat ears on cropped breeds) is definitely more aesthetic. Ex: I have seen pics of a Boxer with ears uncropped and tail undocked and it looks more like a malnourished Bullmastiff. But that's just me, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. |
