[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Blimey I have no interest in dogs usually and only here have I learned about the ear cutting, you learn something new everyday. So the general consensus is to have natural ears so we will stick to that however the last two photos by skysthelimit are really good. Does anyone else like the following two photos here? Would you prefer to see one of these instead? Let me know your thoughts folks! Photo six is the running favourite at the moment and it is similar to the second photo above...... thanks |

| I love these last two photos. The first one -- the one Robert posted and which he says has the "Boston markings" -- is actually my favorite of all the photos. (And I want to reiterate again my aesthetic preference for the cut ears. I wouldn't have my own dogs' ears cuts. But I like the look a lot and might prefer it on a model!)

| I think they look evil with ears like that, they're almost like horns. Like this -> I like the Boston one too, I voted for five but would be happy with this tan colour. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| I'm glad that the recent Papo boxer figure had it's ears cropped. |

| Yes but uncropped ears are natural. I hate when I see Boxers, Rottweilers, Spaniels etc with docked tails. Unless they are a working dog and their tails are in danger of being trapped, caught or damaged, then leave their dam tails alone ! Same with ears. Ok, some people might like that look but it's not natural, the dog was not born that way. Personally the showing world means nothing to me. Whoever decides what the breed standard or look should be, is just darn right stupid ! So many breeds are messed up now because everyone thinks they need to look like show dogs. Sorry for the rant but it just really annoys me |

| Rio, what do you think of Sporting breeds not having their dew claws removed? They are removed so when they are grown and working in harsh field conditions, they won't get ripped off by thicket/brush they are working/retrieving/flushing in. I would rather see them humanely surgically taken off by a vet when days old than torn off in the field.

| Removing dewclaws is not illegal over here, in work we have removed loads of dewclaws that are really loose or pose a problem in the future.
What I have the problem with is, the cropping of this dog's ears are done for they way we want them to look, not for health reasons. What sort of job will that dog have that will endanger it's ears getting caught or ripped ? It's job has all but been wiped out, they aren't used like they were years ago.
Also, Collecta's tag line is " A Natural world in miniature "
But anyway, back to the model :) |

| This is pointless, we can't force you to like cropped, you can't make us hate them. Let just vote and live with it... _________________ Robert

| I am NOT trying to make you hate cropped ears. I respect that you like cropped ears, all I am saying is that it's not natural and I'd prefer to see them with natural ears. Maybe it's because I work in a vet practice and that plays a big part on my decision but it is what it is. Anyway, I am glad that Collecta are making a Staff model, even if it is his American cousin |

| Ooo I haven't seen that one. I'd love a small brindle staffy, like our old girl Tilly, was such a pretty girl |

| Brindles are nice, but very hard to paint properly. Blacks, on the other hand... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ Robert
