Old 14235 Schleich Ibex

He is really neat but do they all have this weird gray coating painted on all of them? It didn't look like that in the picture. Made in Germany

I owned one once but it was a faded color with the gray...

I had that same stuff on my anus bull so i soaked it in water and rubed it down and most of the gray stuff was gone

Of course the legs are chubby as it is usual in many figures but this old ybex is much more artistically sculpted than the newer one. Some old Schleich, although not having good proportions, were made with an artistic touch that made them very wished collectibles!

In a way , I feel the stout legs were designed with the intention of imposing perfect balance - be it horses or wild or any figurine .

Any how , as Roger pointed out rightly , all the vintage beauties of schleich had a great personality of the particular animal . Fantastic materials used - plastic and paints , great artistry and above all the words " made in Germany , Portugal "

the best example is the oldest lamb , calves , and cows . They influence me a lot by their lovely n lively sculpts , simple coloring done and very much bringing out the essence of the animal. No unnecessary ornamentations

I have to agree and although the proportion is out. But it tends to draw some attention on the face and neck.

i think it's much better than the new one as it has way more detail, hope an even better one comes out next year

He's one of those older models that are full of character! Great find, I'm tempted to get one too now

I just want to add, that many of the Chinese made models were/are just as nice, - or in some cases nicer - than the German made ones
