| I was contemplating buying some of CollectA's dogs, but some look questionable. Would you guys be willing to post pics of any of their dogs you have? Thanks. |

| I wish I had a better picture of the Dachshund. I really like it, but I don't think this picture does it justice (it may have been the very first or second picture I ever took for this forum). | I just love Harriet's Rotweiler, Susanne's Jack Russel, Scott's Beagle and that new German Shepherd is amazing! I don't have any CollectA dogs yet, but after seeing these pictures some dogs just jumped up on my wishlist. Is there any other European online store that sells CollectA and Mojo (besides MPV)??? _________________ Bojan

| Don't feel sorry Susanne! This is what I need! Thanks for the great pics, and most of the puppies and smaller dogs from CollectA do look a little odd. But are very cute all the same. Again Thanks! |

| (For what it's worth, I can see Susanne's pictures now. I hope they remain visible.) I have and really like one of the Schleich Golden Retrievers (16335, see picture below) and frankly, I've been so happy with it, I thought it unlikely that I'd go get another Retriever by another company. But Susanne's pictures of the CollectA Golden Retriever are making me rethink that. It is a lovely model. I'm also interested in the CollectA Bulldog. It doesn't look great from the stock photos provided by the company, but I think I'm going to give it a try anyway. My favorite Bulldog is by Bullyland. I love that model. Here's the Schleich Golden Retriever. (I repeat, not a Collecta!) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here's the Bullyland Bulldog (again, not the CollectA). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm looking forward to comparing it with the CollectA Bulldog. |

| And I have to add one remark. Why is it so hard for companies to make a pleasing Border Collie? All those that I've seen (by the modern companies) are odd-looking for some reason or another. From what I've seen, I like the Papo sculpt the best, but the painting is awful. (The paintwork on mine is completely different from the paintwork on those of others (for example, Susanne's, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and indeed remarked on the poor paintwork.) But even though mine looks very different, it isn't any better -- just bad in a different way. It's too bad because I think the sculpt is good. In any case, the Schleich, the CollectA, and the Bullyland leave me pretty cold -- the Schleich is bland and the latter two have faces that don't sit quite right with me. As for the Safari, I just don't like the red scarf. But perhaps I'm just being too fussy. I'd be interested to know what people's thoughts are on Border Collies by contemporary companies. |

| Scott, I agree completely about the border collies. This amazing little dog is one of my favorites also, even if I would never be able to have a real one. It needs a LOT of exersize, both physical and mentally, and I could not give him that. Perhaps that is why it is a difficult model to make ? This breed radiates action and attention. Giving it a red scarf, as Safari did, is an affront to this honest, serious working dog *here * is how I would make a Border collie, if I could |

| Thank you everyone again. Great pics. Scott, I loved schleich dogs until they started the new size. Now my labs are almost pups compared to my older ones. And this year I don't think they did a great job on representing mixed bred dogs. But anyways, I agree on border collies. The only ones I like are the old schleich one and the safari. Yes the former is a little boring, and the latter has a scarf, but a good pose. I just wish someone would make a red border collie(my favorite), and give it a good herding pose like Susanne suggested. Well, enough on my rant, I just wanted to say, thank you everyone for the great pics, and now the only hard part is deciding what to buy! |

If you do could you share a comparison photo? _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

Saarlooswolfhound: I agree about the Schleich. I wish they had kept them at the 1:12 size. (Although I do admit I like the little Pugs.) I also agree about the mixed breed dogs this year; not my favorites. I may have to give the Safari Border Collie more of a chance. - HKHollinstone wrote:

Scott, I really like that Bullyland bull dog! Thanks Harriet, I like it too! It's one of my favorite models. It has a disfigured (badly painted) nose, but I almost think it give it more personality. |

| Ken, I like those too! I'd also, if it's possible, love to see a shot of the Chow's face and a comparison of the Great Dane with other Great Dane models (bullyland or schleich).
