| Honestly, I expected more. Most of the new figurees are white/black/glow in the dark variants of pre-existing figures. Only the Fennec, Wildebeests and Sunfish are on my wishlist. |

| Thanks Sommo! I'll try not to make negative comments! We cannot judge only from what we collect. There are news in lots of series. :) From those that doesn't interest to me I think prehistoric line and toobs are interersting! From those that interests to me, Wings of the World! Very cute for my niece! Wild Safari, as a collector of species and foxes, surely I'm very happy with a fennec and at the moment the main character on 2013 releases. But the figure doesn't look very realistic but it is only a catalogue picture. The wolverine looks great, I love the pose and proportions, but why a wolverine when Schleich released it recently and Mojo released last year? ... a reaction to how Mojo goes in North American market? Gnus I understand, they are very known animals and the brand missed it. I'll also understand if CollectA rleases a cheetah for example. White lions, elk, black fox and wolf I won't comment now! The only thing I can say at this moment about the Easter screech owl is that Pokemons are very popular here and I'm sure it will be a success. My wish list? ... ... ... 2 figures! |

| Yay more water critters! Goldfish, flying fish, and the mola-mola! I love the new prehistoric stuff too! The only thing I'm dissapointed with is the humpback whale, seriously another one? But oh well! :) |

Haha I noticed that too, maybe the sculpt company didn't realize Safari Ltd fans would ever find out about that page and Safari Ltd probably told them to take the pictures down. |

| The goldfish! :O It's terrible. I mean, it's head is so defective that it looks positively retarded! That is, if you can get past the fact that it has fins on all the wrong places (shapes are weird too). And if it's really a 1:1 scale, the model should be 30 cm long.
Sorry for the rant. It's just... I love goldfish and It'd be nice to see a model of a normal one :) |

| Okay, this is bad for me. I don't care about toobs or dinos etc..., I only collect animals in well normal sizes and 2012 was a very bad year for Safari and 2013 will be even worse, only Fennec Fox and Wolverine look interesting to me. _________________ Bojan

| Thanks for the link! I think this year's line up looks decent. I couldn't care less about the Glow-in-the-Dark stuff, and I have to limit the prehistorics I collect, but I'm pleased with the Backyard Birds Toob. It's about time that they did this!! Backyard birdwatching is very, very popular - this Toob should be a hit! The Incredible Creatures Eastern Screech-Owl, Townsends Big-eared Bat Atlantic Flying Fish (o)): ; and even the Goldfish are all pretty cool looking. That Wildlife Wonders Cheetah looks outstanding!!! AND, it's in 1:10 scale, as are other Wildlife Wonders figures like 2012's Wolf and Black Bear, as well as the Lion, Tigers, and several others. This should make some people happy! I like the Wild Safari Wildebeest and Fennec Fox (o)): . He looks accurate enough to me. Not 100%, but enough that I knew what he was before seeing the title. White Lions are all the rage right now, and this seems to be reflected in the offerings from Papo, CollectA, and now Safari. I wondered when the toy companies would catch on to the popularity of these cats, and it seems Papo was first to, then CollectA, now Safari. The North American Wildlife all looks outstanding except the Black Fox, which is missing the grizzled markings to make it accurate. The black wolf is another long overdue addition. Regardless of one's views of color variants, they are an economical way of introducing something different to the consumer. Black Wolves capture a lot of people's imaginations and seem to be the poster-wolves of the Yellowstone reintroduction program, so their inclusion in this line was only a matter of time. Roger, I don't think the Wolverine is a response to Mojo, I'm sorry. Wolverines are very popular animals, they've been featured recently in a number of commercials on tv, more zoos are starting to feature them; Marvel named a very popular superhero after them (who has another movie coming soon), and many Americans view them as a symbol of our fierce natural heritage. Plus, countless sports teams feature them as a mascot. It would be ridiculous for Safari to NOT make one. Besides, Schleich's Wolverine sucks. Mojo's is awesome, but Mojo is a young company with nowhere near the availability that Safari has, at least not here in the US. I've only seen Mojo in very small numbers at Hobby Lobby, who also carries a much more extensive selection of Safari figures, as do all the major craft supply chains. Mojo is creating new, exciting figures, many of which I own and love, but to say that Safari, Scheich, or Papo are copying them or responding to them in any way is severely premature. Not when examining all the other possible motives a company may have for making a particular figure. Just like with the Sable: in 2010, I personally requested Safari make a Sable, was told they would look into it, and lo-and-behold, one was made. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who ever suggested it to them, and at the time there were some major zoos that were acquiring new / introducing newborn sables (which is what prompted me to request one). They also take requests from zoos pretty seriously, so if a zoo requests something, it's probably going to get made. The Arabian Oryx is one such example that I know was a zoo request. That Elk looks really good, too, and is such a vast improvement over their last one! Elk are a different species than Red Deer, and this figure will finally mean that I feature an Elk in my collection! Ana, the white color is accurate, not that you have to like it, but it is at least accurate: [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] I'm totally in love with the Ocean Sunfish (another request I made of Safari a long time ago, I might mention). I'm a little disappointed with the Humpback Whale, though. Looks like they just scaled up their former WS Humpback Whale calf, which sucked. Oh well. And I'm lovin the look of that Luna Moth life cycle set. I like Luna Moths, so that set is probably a must have! Overall, I think this year offers some really nice pieces. A bit heavy on the glow-in-the-dark stuff, but ya gotta admit, that crap sells. A lot! And while color morphs of already released animals may not be the coolest "new" figure, again, they sell well and cost nothing to produce, so they're really a no-brainer. Without massive sales of things like that, we wouldn't get the Wildebeests, Fennec Foxes, Wolverines, Flying Fish, Veiled Chameleons, Ocean Sunfish, Cambrian Life, or any other possibly risky species. It's like the Dragons line - they are cool looking, yes, but they don't have to be. Dragons are really popular right now, and they sell like freaking hotcakes. Safari's the only company that produces a wide variety of them to choose from, and given Safari's continued support of the line, I'd say people are collecting them all. If I had the space and money, I certainly would. They look awesome!

| Honestly I'm a lot more excited for this year as I wanted Safari to make a sunfish and flying fish model and I'm glad they did! I love the new prehistorics as well. I'm hoping for next year for a oarfish model! |

| I like the Wolverine,Fennec,Palamino,Elk,black Percheron-good to see this colour-and the black Wolf-long overdue-maybe others will do wolves in colours other than grey/brown/white.The black fox is rather odd-know its a colour in Red Foxes but think the should have went with the cross fox colouring-much more attractive. Also like the Gastornis. |

| a lot of new stuff. In my wishlist there're 2 tubes (birds and cambrian). Atlantic flying fish is very nice, but I don't collect "incredible creatures" series, too big for me. In wild safari dinos I'm interested on gastornis and maybe diabloceratops. From wild safari I'm making some space in my shelves for the fennec fox, but I'm also ready to repaint that so big eyes . The bowhead whale some people (and me) have talked about is not in the catalogue (maybe next year), but the sunfish is a great figure and I will buy it for sure. Well, around 5 new safari items for me in 2013. - Roger wrote:

I agree , - that percheron is beautyful The more I look, the more goodies I find : the bat with the huge ears, - the flying fish, the toob from Cambrian aera, sunfish ... One thing that surprises me is that there is only ONE new Carnegie-dino ! Not much for the selebration of theyr 25 years cooperation |
