| Hello everyone :) This is gonna be a fun thread, well I hope so! Since this is the first resin in my entire life, I also have some questions to pass along, about using Gap Fillers, Putty or say Plumbers Epoxy? Odd looking stuff to me, it's white and it can be used to fill gaps which tyrantqueen very clearly explained me, but all in all this is very new to me so a log like this one may provide me of helpful use for later builds So as the gap filler goes I bought a Laminat Crack filler, since resins like Laminate is made of a plasticized substance I think it will do well, I went for white coloured gap filler, since it's the most neutral colour I could choose from. The description is dutch but it tells me I can fill gaps of 1mm thick, so I think I should be okay with it, I just wonder how I should use it haha, I thought at first with my fingers and as Tyrantqueen advised me to use water to thin it out and such, still figuring this all out in the end haha oh dear. : So here some pics of how far I got today, didn't do much than just glue his arms, legs, tail and top part of the skull first, just like Tyrantqueen told me to do,I used Loctite SuperGlue, similar to Gorilla SuperGlue: Here Mr. Such from the left side: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here a closeup of his tail, left arm & leg and upper skull: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here from the right side: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here a closeup of his tail, right arm & leg and upper skull: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here a closeup of his tail and his left leg: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The following two pictures will show you some hard to reach seams, I could use some help here on how to get my putty in that place and gently spread it out too. Here the right leg showing it's inner placed seam: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here the left leg showing a similar thing, only the gap is a bit bigger here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]For me it is very hard to see what I am doing I guess, I can't see 3D, so hereby making certain calculations is extremely hard, on how much I should remove on a certain angle. Anyways I hope I can deal with these seams safely thereby I hope I have not messed it up Any helpful advise and reply would be very welcome thanks!

| I can't help with good advises Tylo because I never glued a resin model but I can tell you it is a beautiful model I was, well I'm still very tempted to buy the sphenacodon and erythrosuchus I missed the shunosaurus and it is always in my mind |

| Wow!!! What a beautiful model, you've done a great job so far and I can't wait to see the finished figure.
On the hard to reach seam, my suggestion is to use a tool, I use wax sculpting tools, they are small and have a really nice curved sculpting tool that will go right into the tight space and smooth out and remove any excess putty. I am not sure where you would buy wax carving tools, I buy mine from a tool company here in the states called Harbor Freight, but dentists tools have very similar features and could easily be used as a substitute, you can get them from most medical supply houses.
Good luck! |

| Btw I see those little scraggly bits on the back claws (the correct name for them is "flash") are a casting artefact and it's very normal and common to see them in resin kits. You're supposed to clean them off with soap and water, but I've found this isn't very effective :/ A better technique I think is to get a small pair of pliers (nail clippers would work best) and gently cut as much off as you can until it looks as neat as you can get it [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] - Quote :

I have those too, are they something like this? XD [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But I think they might be a bit overkill for this one job. In a pinch, and for this one job, a cocktail stick would work just fine :) Perhaps you could consider buying some metal tools in future, Tylo, if you want to continue doing kits. They'll help out a lot |

Btw, I guess Mr Sucho is now being retired? Oh sure please do! Go ahead! I'd be like :) As for Mr Sucho, I can't continue on him atm, just have too many things up my alley, even that I really want to continue, I keep getting major pain attacks after working on him for not even more than 15 minutes But in the long run I will try to complete him, even that this is also the last Resin I will be working on, it consumes too much tension and that isn't what I prefer on having, oh well I will leave Resins and sculpting to you, you rock with these things :) |

| Okay guys here's an update, after all the worrying and such I decided to continue on Me Sucho, so here some pics, he's ready for painting yaay! This is how I will display them, the Suchomimus can also be seen as a female Spinosaurus, which i think it resembles, and here the male Spinosaurus is grooming the female, even he has his jaws opened :) Here the right side view [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Front left view: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Mr Sucho's face, isn't she cute! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here a top face view of the two: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here from the rear right view: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Hereby I'd love to thank my lovely partner [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tyrantqueen for giving me faith and hope to continue this Resin , since I was too afraid I would fail on it But thanks to her I managed to continue it and I [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]love her and thank her for backing me up, we indeed all have our hard times <3 <3 <3 The thing I love about art is that you can use your free will to use your imagination to create something beautiful and it never matters how long you do it, or how you do it, it will always remain something personal but also something special to you, because you made it by using your own methods

Hey thanks :) Well as colouration goes I dunno yet either, I always let my mind float off to somewhere until idea's pop up :) I will do my best with this, because I really want it to work out, only when i get pains I just need a few days rest, the illness I have disables me from some things, oh well I'll just take my time with this, but somehow I think it will work out just right |

| The figure looks fantastic, the species is also very well chosen! I'm glad TQ found the right way to make you continue with your work. I am really enjoying the figure a lot. - Tylosaurus wrote:
