| I love Ovibos. They're also represented in the figurine-world by some of the strangest models. So i decided to rework the Schleich one as soon as i get a figurine in bad condition. Yvette sold me a scratched one and so i strated my project although i wanted to to do others first: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the Schleich model has some serious mistakes. Firts of all. the head. As usual for Schleich far too big, the mussle seems to be more something like a vacuum cleaner. manatee-headed musk ox friend also has a very strong neck. I tried to cover this by adding some "moulting". In my opinion, the animal looks more like a creature from long gone days in that period. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Wonderful work Philip! I like the muzzle particularly. It is a big improvement over the original.

Very interesting work with the musk ox. Schleich figure is originally a good figure, some little details doesn't mean that the figure is not good. However your work improved it without doubts and interesting to the detail of capturing the characteristics of a subspecies. It is great to follow your works!

thank you all. I managed to take some better pics : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]@ roger: i have to disagree a little. As i wrote, i think the neck is far too strong, the muzlle just points to the ground which is wrong as well, the hooves show less fur than a musk ox should have and thehorns (didn't change them) are too big. the proportions of the head are odd as well.

Philipp, thanks for new pictures and also for these not very correct points of Schleich Musk ox. :) I don't disagree with you. I only think that the original is a very good figure and until now the best representative I know from the species. I am much more exigent with a replica of a lion than with a replica of an animal rarely released. If I check carefully, also the European bison from Schleich has relevant flaws but I love it! I only didn't like the oryx because it is so bad that is almost unrecognizable.
