| No, the Papo orca is much bigger and made of harder plastic. The Safari one is smaller and more flexible, but both are good figures. |

| That spotted one looks like the retired Safari Farm figure Spotted Longhorn Bull, 238829. Here's a pic: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The other resembles another retired Safari Farm figure, the Jersey Bull, but yours seems darker. Perhaps checking the belly on your figure will reveal a title? Safari generally marks their figures on the underside (but not always!). Here's an image of Safari's retired Jersey Bull for reference. Safari often has different paint schemes (especially on older figures) without changing the model numbers, so it may be that I have a pic of a lighter paint scheme, and your figure could simply be a darker paint scheme from a different year. | Subject: Size question about Welsh pony, Rocky Mountain pony, etc Sun Jan 20, 2013 5:06 pm | |
| I could use some help from fellow collectors who have both Safari and Schleich (or Papo) horses.
I'm considering buying some Safari models, but I'm baffled because according to the description their size sounds a lot bigger than Schleichs.
I do have some old Safari horses in my collection but they are boxed up and I have no access to them at the moment. But I remember they were actually smaller than their Schleich/Papo counterparts.
Could anybody tell me if recent Safari models, in particular the Welsh pony and Rocky Mountain pony are compatible with Schleich and Papo models? Thanks! |

Any Schleich horse would do, I have them all so I can figure out the size by comparison. Or maybe another pony or small horse like the Icelandic? Thanks in advance! |

| He's such a beauty! I'm definitely going to add him to my herd. Thanks so much for the kind help! Any ideas about the size of the Welsh pony? I suspect it was part of a different Safari line, I think the Winner's Circle line - it might be bigger than the Rocky Mountain pony. |

| Rocky is also a Winners Circle...I think they fit together The now retired Blue Ribbons horses were much larger, I think.

| Adding some more information to Susanne's contribution. Blue Ribbon horses are in Classic scale 1:12, like new larger CollectA and Breyer classic. Winners Circle are roughly in 1:24 scale what means that they can be somewhat smaller than Schleich. I've found this information here! |

I have a comparison photo of two Safari Friesians with Collecta one (no Schleich, sorry): [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Schleich Friesian would be somewhere in between Collecta and small Safari. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Hmmm, I didn't know Safari makes such small horses. If you compare them to their grey squirrel, that's kinda spooky! _________________ Bojan
