(sample entry: name of the animal figure, brand, year of release, cat. #, condition/imperfections, number of pieces of said figure in my posession, other remarks/note) |

| I've photographed (the old fashioned on paper kind, in numerous albums now) all my collection, as you can see in my posts in the vintage section of the forum. I find it the only way to do it when dealing with, for example, numerous shades of brown horses - written descriptions don't really do that adequately.
When I go to toy collector fairs I sometimes take some of the photo albums with me, particularly my albums for Britains farm and other UK makes farm, which are the ones where I have numerous colours of single figures. Then, if I need to, I can go out to my car to check if I see something for sale I'm not sure about. You, being younger and more tech savvy than an old technophobe like me, could probably do the same on a tablet/notebook/ or similar device. |

| That sounds like a great idea, Dave I used my E-site as a "catalogue", but it became much too expensive ( And is not transportable ). My plan now is to have only Schleich, Mojo and a few smaller brands on the old site, and develop a photobucket-site instead. However it goes terribly slow _________________ SUSANNE |

| Since I don't own any of the catalogs pre-2013 and have only a few retired items in my wish list, I usually use those as what I have and what I need. I put a check mark next to what I have and use a highlighter over the item name and number for what I still need. For the retired items, I usually just keep a note in my mind. |

| I intend to release some web as Kiki has in past but with dynamic pages and advanced filtering for the main collection (on my own domain of course); because I am familiar with the static webpages only, I will need help in the future with the dynamic web; in the meantime I use small database for my new items as the source for my future pages. In my head is still a few ideas about the graphic frontend... |

| I have an excel spreadsheet. It catalogues every figure by name, brand, dates of release (and retirement, if applicable), manufacturer's ID number, date of purchase, seller, sale price (including shipping), and a whole bunch of other random information as well. Most even have the Linnaean taxonomy (which is totally overkill). It's been extremely useful to have kept most of that information. It's actually, on one or two occasions, prevented me from ordering the same figure twice. |

| I mentioned elsewhere I have a full on database that lists everything, with linked pictures. It means I always know what I have! _________________ I used to have an online store, but now it's a Blog exploring the variety in my collection! | This topic comes up in a lot of threads...so I'll just say it quick here, I use a database with a wide range of tables to organize my collection. _________________ I used to have an online store, but now it's a Blog exploring the variety in my collection! | I don't list them, just have photos of everything, mostly in groups by brand & theme, sometimes a photo of a single figure in numerous colour versions. 15 large photo albums. Overall brand is more important to me than theme.
Because I'm an old fashioned technophobe, I do have numerous folders of records on paper, a mix of things I have and things I'd like to have, or just take my interest, from items sold on eBay, toy auctions and from collector websites. As I only collect vintage stuff, and there are many ranges of which little/no information has survived, it is the only way of trying to discover who made what. Many of the old companies were tiny outfits, and never produced illustrated catalogues/leaflets. Also useful for keeping track of market values. |

| So far I only have my Kaiyodo figures catalogued. I have them all in several lists on MS Word, organized by series, release, and model number. |

| Oh that's a good reminder. I probably should take pics if only for insurance purposes. I think my husband has a basic spreadsheet somewhere with some information about each.... _________________ Laura

| I printed off a list of all the Schleich models. It has the name of the model, the number, introduced year and discontinued year. I tik the ones that I have.
I also have a list which has the names of the models and what they are. I keep record of how much I have. |
