Little trip to Den Haag beach, bird photos

Hello friends! Yesterday we went for a trip to the Dutch seaside. We started from the beach in Den Haag and then we walked few kilometers east. Weather was very cold and unfortunately sky was very cloudy so photos are not as clear as I wished (lot of grain) and yes I started to dream about better lens but anyway I was so happy to walk along this beach and observe some wonderful birds Water was cold and I managed not to swim this time haha Hope You like the photos

First we saw Oystercather

He walked in cold water, no wonder his legs became red in color

Then we spotted lovely little birds (in size of blackbird or so) which most probably were Sanderlings , here photo of one of them :) They have very good camouflage for the sandy beach

There was also another species (I think) but cannot be sure what exactly was it Maybe was it Little Stint but it shouldn't be there in this season Any other idea? :)

We walked also on the nearby dunes and there we could watch wild rabbits (hard to see on this photo actually)

And bird of prey but I have no idea what species it was photo is too blurred to recognize it I think?

We have seen also many gulls and some small birds like robins for example :) That was great day and I'm happy I finally could spend day outside of city in more natural environment I thought I would share these nice moments with You here :) (and perhaps someone could help to recognize some of the species?)

Ohhh ! Such a wonderful trip to teh beach .

Actually I like the beach better outside the swimming season - even if some like to swimm in holes in the ice

Yes, I like beach after the season very much too, and I think birds feel more comfortable also (when it's more silent place :) )

I think the other small wader from this beach was probably Dunlin (Calidris alpina) , I just saw photos of this bird in winter plumage and it looked very much alike and this specie spend winter in Holland so chances are high :)

He little bird you weren't sure about is a common Sandpiper I think. The bird of prey looks like a buzzard!

Wow, beautiful photoessays Ana! I love to go to the beach and watch birds. (Except for seagulls when they try and take my lunch )

I just noticed, there are lots of shells there aren't there! Did you bring any home with you?
