| Hi guys! I'm new in this forum, I've seen your beautiful works and I decide to repaint some of mine childhood models I start from these two models of zebra: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and these are the results: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm not really satisfied, they look too reflective, maybe I shouldn't use the reflective coat, but since I used "tempera paints" they look too opaque.. ..maybe on the next models I'll change something See you on the next update Hope you like it |

| Very nice repaints! Congratulations! I think acrylic paints are more durable than tempera/gouache. Gouache are not water resist until You protect them by fixative. So I think You did it right with the final coat even if it is a little bit shiny :) _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Welcome on forum! I think the repaintings are very nice and the figures look much more realistic now. Which brand are the originals from your childhood? Looking forward to see your further works. |

| That is impressive given that the models look pretty small. Great job! |

| Yes Ana I'm going to make a photo with a reference object; by the way a post a couple of picture of my last project I have to make still the eyes, but I'm working on it: here's the lion! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here's the repaint: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]they still need the "shiny protection coat" what do you suggest? Use it or not? A friend of mine suggest me to use hair spray, what do you think? |

| Nice lion too :) As for protective layer, hair spray may work but I recommend fixative, it's something used mainly for charcoal and soft pastels but will protect these paints too. And it's not very shiny. Hair spray may be not as waterproof as fixative I think (but many students use it to protect charcoal drawings also) _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Again very nice repaintings. I am sure zebras and giraffes are very hard to paint and you did a good work. |
