The 2013 KAIYODO Great White-fronted goose walkaround

Breeding across the tundra from Nunavut to Siberia, across Russia, and in Greenland, the Greater White-fronted Goose has one of the largest ranges of any species of goose in the world. This specie is closely related to the smaller Lesser White-fronted Goose (A. erythropus). It is named for the patch of white feathers bordering the base of its bill, but even more distinctive are the salt-and-pepper markings on the breast of adult birds. The Greater White-fronted Goose is divided into four subspecies. Birds wintering in the United States and Japan have been described as A. a. frontalis on the basis of their slightly larger size and a marginally longer bill. Another putative East Asian subspecies albicans has also been described. A 2012 study has found that frontalis and albicans do not merit subspecies status, the former being synonymised with gambelli and the latter with the nominate subspecies.

Sometimes we forget the beauty of the more common species ( except perhaps Homo Sapiens). This bird is really lovely in the subdued pattern of many shades of earth-colours

You are already owning some 2013 Japanese figures! Some known as major brands hasn't started yet with their 2013 lines.
As usual it is a very interesting figure, love specially feathering on tail and the simple but very goose stance.
