| Hi everyone i just came across this website with comments from a concerned mother who is alarmed and appalled at the realistic nature of some of Schleich's male animals. Personally I think it is hilarious yet ridiculous. If you are a very prude parent then I would say buy your child some basic animals or Lego, dont buy realistic looking models from a great maker like Schleich. Can you imagine what would happen to the line up of Schleich animals if this particular parent was in charge of product development? We would have ridiculous looking unrealistic models! Take a look at this article, it really is quite silly in my opinion...I know it is off topic but I just had to share it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Question is, why on earth did this woman buy the models in the first place then?!

| Hahaha that was so funny!!! Especially "I think this horse isn't Jewish" xDxD Is she serious? Ok she probably is. Mothers like this are probably the reason why this year's Lusitano, Shetland Pony and Clydesdale aren't stallions at all. Oh dear. I thought that there was some real problems out in the world but apparently we should be more concerned about the genitals of collectible animals. |

| After reading this mother's comments I think I have the perfect solution for her problem. I neuter dogs and cats five days a week. I have also neutered horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. I have also done surgery on lemurs, monkeys, and leopards. Therefore, she could send all of her childs male toys to me and I could neuter them for her. After she pays for the services I could use all the profits to buy all the 2011 Schleich models. If she wants all signs of male or female anatomy removed I could do that too. With that money, I could buy all other 2011 models. Sounds like a great plan to me |

That elephant pic is hilarious! I saw one like that at Hamburg zoo many years aog. I asked my mother what it was and she blushed and said the animal was probably ill...lol! oh well that was back in the 80s of course. The mother in the article is totally ridiculous but the scary thing is that there are many mothers who think like her. It is so silly. Why did she buy the animals? Schleich is a world class leader in realism not sillyism. The mothers views in the article represent a great number of parents who do think like this....not just in the USA but I am sure elsewhere. Lets just hope manufacturers dont catch wind of such nonsense or next year we will go back to schleich models from the 80s! lol Remrock: great idea....neuter all the plastic animals, start a business providing that service to prude parents and you are sure to make a mint! |

| Sounds like someone is way too overprotective or has too much time on their hands ?
I can understand that parents are cautious about what they give their children but if you really are concerned about the certain anatomy of model animals, then get your kid something else ? I think some people are ignorant to the fact that not all animal models are for kids. I stress this time and time again every time I see a display of Schleich animals either knocked down or messed up.
There are plenty other brands of models that a concerned parent can buy for their kid. My parents never had a problem with it. It's what is real in the world and they'd rather teach me fact than fiction.
Just let the kid watch the Discovery channel and have done with it. |

| Is this lady for real????? If she only buy unrealistic toys, What is she suposed to say if he ever come across a real life stallion? "mom, whats that thing betwen the horses legs? My horse doesnt have that" No, better they find out from the beginning how animals realy look In fact, it kinda scares me to see some of todays new animal toys. Does parents realy want there kids to think that for example, dogs look like this???? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Scary thought |

| She doesn't deserve a comment. She does need to get help to overcome her fears before she messes up her children. |

| I wonder if this lady will ever be able to tell her child how babies are coming into this world at a proper age... You can see the title, the birds and the bess, haha. And she says that this male genitial is over-proportional... I am pretty sure she saw a stallions geniatial in erect position once in her life, and she knows how large this can be. This horse doesn't have to be ashamed for this elephant(in proportion of course). No no, this is not the way lady... These models are here to show your children how nature looks in real life, including every normal deetail! |

| That's sad. I know I a mother like this. She tries to protect her daughters from everything, yet she works in a strip club. What's wrong with that?
If they are going to make realistic animals, then the animals have to be realistic. At least Schleich hasn't made a breeding pair. I have seen on ebay where a seller made a breeding pair of horses, as well as a mare having a foal with the sack still attached. That was very realistic. She even cautioned people that it was realistic before they opened the page. |
