Now I had the same problem, but it helped when I clicked the "Editor mode" ( the icon that looks like a piece of paper).
Then we get back to something like the old one, and things almost work again.

Sigh ! I wished we could get the old layot bach !!!!
When I clikk on a smiley, it covers what I am writing, and I have to click again-again to be able to see what I am doing Sad

Me too !!!!!! bouncebounce

I sometimes make the links and text in a word document first, and copy it in the forum whan I am ready.
This is nice, because you can save it and work on it again later.
But when I do that now, I have to spend a long time removing all sorts of strange fonts, codes, and stuff, which this system generates and makes it all look a complete mess Suspect

This is also everything new to me. Maybe there is a chance to suggest a configuration option to revert to previous version. Very Happy
Susanne, if you want text without formating code, use notepad instead of Word.
I am not having a single problem with this new editor but I understand that it is easier to use what we are used with. Very Happy
About some technical dificulties, the forum was under manutention. Very Happy

WONDERFUL !!! Thankyou ever so much cheers

About what we are used to, - of course you are right, but it IS irritating that you have to switch mode before you can write after a quote.
And it IS irritating that the list of smilies cover the text so you can`t see what you are doing, and you have to click to get rid of the list again.

I can`t see any improvements ( unlike the new photobucket, which is great), only drawbacks ...
well, at my age we become more conservative Laughing

Conservative? Yesterday I was reading a tread of 15 pages of Admins of several foruns commenting how bad is this new editor and asking for previous version. Laughing Most of them are youger than I am. Very Happy
I don't feel any troubles posting but it is evident that this version needs to be improved and as a lot of bugs. It is being harder for me to edit others posts.
One of the conclusions it was possible to take is that old version won't get back anymore. Some updates to the new version are promised to Monday.  Maybe it worth to be patient and see how it ends. Very Happy

Ohhh ! So it is a new version, I didn`t know that Shocked

Well, we will get used to it then, I just wish they would fix those two points, - then it is perfectly ok for me Very Happy

The developers are being strongly pressured to use the old emoticons table. It won't be also hard to keep the mode a user selects preventing the user of selecting it anytime the user wants to post. The old editor was considered the worst point of forummotion boards, I believe they are changing it to improve although we can't see it yet. Very Happy

I am also having problems with the new editor. When I upload photos they do not show up, they just shrink and get an X over them.

A tip : When using notepad, de-activate the autimatic... what`sit called in English..the function that makes automatic new lines after reaching the right side of the "paper". THEN it works like a dream Very Happy

Can you please post a picture, even if in preview it shows only an X? So I can see what is happening. You can do it on this topic. Very Happy

Yes, it is called "word wrap" and it is on "format" menu. Very Happy I am glad it is being useful and that you figured how it works. I always think that for simple tasks we should use simple programs. Very Happy

I put in the URL, and there is a width and height option, I did not put anything into those two boxes. Maybe that is the problem? But I don't know what width and height it should be. Does anyone else know? :)

Size is exactly this one you're showing. 800 pxls width, not more. Very Happy

Hi Reinbowshcleich, I can see your pic and you are using Photobucket. The best is to use the IMG code on photobucket ( I guess it is what you did) and to paste it directly in the postreply window without using the tools.

Like that... It works cheers The easier, the better Wink

I have problems when I quote someone - I cannot write under the quote, only in it :/

Is it possible to do something about it? Because the new editor is driving me crazy...

Nothing to do but to click on the "Switch Editor mode"-icon, - the one that looks like a sheet of paper .scratch

I had the same problem, took mes some while to figure out which button the ''switch-to-editor-mode button" was (I started on the left) but I discovered it eventually.
