PostSubject: Safari bird NOT EXISTING caught in official picture !   Sun Nov 24, 2013 10:19 pm

Hi guys, if you buy the Backyard Birds Toob from Safari ltd you'll have 7 birds: cardinal, blue jay, robin, indigo buting, woodpecker, oriole and warbler. But if you look to this official picture you'll see 8 birds in the toob: on the bottom of the toob there is a Gold Finch wich doesn't exist in the real set !

What's that ? Was it a Safari prototype accidentally caught in the picture ?

That's strange :scratch:they picture it in the toob but don't have it listed in the second picture on their website or in the description:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

If you count the birds in the toob, there's 8, plus maybe one more if there's one hiding behind the label and under the warbler but the description says there's only 7 pieces Suspect

You could send them an e-mail and ask them about it to see what they say.

There are onlyt 7 in the toob Shocked

So it must be a picture from a prototype or such, - shame, isn't it ? Wink

Wow! Shocked  Surprising! But indeed, it's shame, 8 would be better than 7 in this case for sure! Very Happy

Safari Ltd's answer on missing birdie:
"We had to drop one of the yellow birds in this TOOB so we choose the yellow finch"

Noooo, that's just too much work Rolling Eyes

The most curious thing - they had to drop "one of the yellow birds". Couldn't they just paint it differently, since most of those smaller birds look almost the same except the color. The figure was completed, they could just paint it as Evening Grosbeak, for example

Good point. IMHO the warbler doesn't represent any species very easily - it's more of a "guess the yellow bird" contest. silent  It would probably have been easy to just repaint the warbler into a more recognizable species right off the bat, rather than removing a very nice one from the toob and leaving the odd one. Rolling Eyes I'm sure it's all about the money. geek

Today I received the answer from Safari, here it is:
Dear Lorenzo,
We apologize for any inconvenience; the image on our website has not been updated. Please note this Toob contains a total of seven pieces. Thank You,
Patricia Rodriguez
I don't think this is helpful

I replied to this last response, and they told me the goldfinch was never produced. scratch Well, one version had to be made if it's in the photo! Laughing

Same thing happened with the new Deep Sea Toob: you'll notice that there's a Blob Fish in the toob picture, and eight figures. But only seven in the final photo, and there's no Blob.
