Mojo 2015 releases

That's a "main stream" decision with another common figure. Though, in this case, we cannot complain, first recently, Mojö released two very unusual breeds, the 2014 Suffolk Punch and still this year with the Orlov trotter. The 2nd point is that Mojö needed a pony, I commented it often, and for a first pony it was expectable a common and small breed. I like the sculpt, not as much as the Russian horse but I like it. I only think that the color is not adjusted to the sculpt and in general range concept, it will close the doors in near future, to the introduction of a Haflinger. A serious Shetland!

Yes Roger that's a mainstream choice for Mojo. I also like to make more original breeds. But from the other hand I was also happy to sculpt Shetland, I like these ponies.
About the colour, I voted for palomino or palomino tobiano for this breed but it came out to look more like flaxen chestnut indeed. So, it's now like the Haflinger colour. I guess that means no Haflingers for Mojo in the nearest future. Otherwise some kids would think that Shetland is a Haflinger foal

Actually, I didn't know if it was a palomino or a flashen chestnut, I believe that most of the buyers also don't know that. When collections are extensive like it happens in Schleich or CollectA, it is a interesting market strategy, making smaller breeds in a similar color to large breeds. So they work as babies. I think Schleich did it with the Fell ponies. Haflingers are clearly larger than Shetlands, I know that, but in a small collection a palomino shetland and a Haflinger could turn in a kind of market cannibalism. I think that a Haflinger is not needed either, there are a lot of large pony or small horse breeds to be explored. By the way, palomino is my favorite horse color.

I think that would be interesting.  On a related note, Collect A contacted me previously with the help of forum member Numaan as they wanted to produce my bull and calf Indian elephants for their line.  Unfortunately in the end it didn't work out but I think it would be nice to see my elephants on the store shelves.

About market strategy, yes I agree with you

I like this ones style much better than many other ones. It's not like a perfect little princess pony with shiny fur - no this one is much nicer! Just today I was looking at the Schleich old bay pony and thought it would be awesome to have something like this one. And yes a real looking shetty! He could be also a youngster I think. Great! :)
But I'm not a fan of Mojö's paint job so maybe shouldn't expect too much... Very nice repaint vic anyway

I like this shetland pony, both the sculpt and the painting. I don't know the names of the horse colours, but i like this colour. Perhaps the mane and tail are a little too pure white?
Anyway, congrate Mojo and Anna. It is a nice model. I will buy this one.

Nice new horse Anna, it has a nice pose and character to it.

I did a quick Photoshop alteration of the Mojo elephant, I think it should look more like this.  Fixed ear shape, thinner trunk end, more sway backed, longer torso, fixed the head anatomy, fixed hind leg anatomy and the colour is closer to a real elephant, not a pale dead looking blueish grey.

The original sculpt looked in between a cow and a bull so I altered it to be more correct with a cow's head shape.

This one looks so wonderful, top bad that this won't be the final version. I really hope you day that you get the chance to model a figure for a major brand.

It would be nice if it is not finalized yet and able to be revised.

Those are really helpful changes. The back and the hind leg anatomy (and where the leg meets the belly) are the most significant improvements for me. (I could live probably with a chubby trunk.)

The deal-breaker for me is still the texture. It looks slightly amateurish and too obviously sculpted. (Of course I realize you couldn't really fiddle with that elephas_maximus.)

Perhaps the skin texture of the body looks especially strange, because the ears have no texture at all

Also if I'm not a expert of dinosaurs, there are a lot of better figures of these on the market.

Do they bought too much blue-grey??
