"News" for the Hidden Kingdom serie ;-)

Over time, Safari has made this gorgeous insects ( and spiders) series

The first were made for The Smithsonian Institution beginning in 1995.
In 2001, they made some not-so-large and not-so-detailed ones, as standard models : Hidden Kingdom

About 10 years later they were not in the cataloge for a period ( As far as I remember ?), but some came back.

However, there has not been any new models since 2007...so I was thrilled to see that NOW they were adding to this wonderful flock again..but I was too fast

When I got them, I relized that they are only "loose" adults from the Life Cycle Series

Anyway, for people who just want the grown-up insect, it is a chance to get it for half the price of the whole set

But really, they aren't that nice.
At least not as nice as they ought to be in such a fine series

It is interesting, obviously. It makes sense that they sell the adultes of the lifecycles individually, the only less positive point is that the collection is almost dead. I hope Safari stop using insecticides and starts a new collection much more in line with the remarkable Smythsonian that was a monumental collection.
