Let me introduce you my new distinguished guest: Strange Wings.

Yi qi, that’s is real name, is a pigeon size dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of China. It is known from a single fossil specimen of an adult individual. It was a small, possibly arboreal, animal. Yi possessed an unusual, elongated third finger, that helped to support a membranous gliding plane made of skin. The planes of Yi qi were also supported by a long, bony strut attached to the wrist. This modified wrist bone and membrane-based plane is unique among all known dinosaurs, and might have resulted in wings similar in appearance to those of bats.

Kaiyodo produced this year a set of four figurine for the 2016 Dino Expo of the National Museum of Nature and Science of Tokyo.

The set is composed of a Spinosaurus (in the new controversial shape), a feathered Trex, a juvenile Parasaurolophus AND a Yi qi. cheers

I remember reading about that creature and now you're showing a fabulous walk around of a figure of it. It is quite interesting, we have several examples of convergent evolution in modern creatures so it shouldn't be surprising at all to see the same happening when we are talking about creatures that lived several millions of years ago. Though, it is always surprising to see different formulas having a similar effect. Figure is really special and today I'll dream that Lisbon instead of being full of pigeons, is full of yi kis. cheers
