Harpy eagle, Safari Wings Of the World-series 2017

Safari has really, really given us models of some wonderful and rare animals this year  
One of the ones I looked most forward to, and which is a completely new species in my collection is the Harpy Eagle
It is a truely delightful model , and I am very happy to prsent him to you  

The Harpy eagle  has an extensive distribution across Central and South America, from southern Mexico southwards to Paraguay, southern Brazil and north-eastern Argentina . However, it is quite sparsely and patchily distributed across its range and is thought to be locally extinct in some areas, particularly in parts of Central America

Look, how he has just shook his feathers, - a wonderful detail

Safari ltd. never fails when it comes to birds.
What a lovely, smart looking eagle.
This one is going on "my to buy list" for sure.

One of the highlights of Safari for 2017! I remember, a long time ago, some "veterans" on forum insistently asking for a harpy eagle! My feeling at that time was clearly that this species hardly could be portraied in one of the major brands' ranges. I was wrong, it lasted but here is a very interesting depiction of this species made by Safari, the company of the Wings of the World! Happy!

I really would love to get the Naturalism since it is my favorite but the fact the Schleich is easily available and I could get it locally on sale, it ended as my representative for this iconic species.
Maybe one day we will start a kind of historical game like "Who did it first" and apparently it was Play Visions the first releasing a harpy eagle? There's really no previous model? It is hard to believe that nobody released such a cool animal before 1998.
