Aardwolf project

African nocturnal mammal, of the hyena family, with a striped coat, sometimes called a burrowing wolf.
Recently customized a spotted hyena from Papo as a brown hyena.    
Now in my collection, I still miss the protele!  
The letterhead has been ready for years;  
So I am embarking on the making of one of these rather unknown animals.

I LOVE aarwolves, - and I have just got a very special one also

Certainly your skills are improving. This figure is really well done and with correct proportions and position. Probably I would not mind to include it into my own collection

For the mane I will be inspired by this image

I was just thinking that an aardwolf could be a wonderful pet, small, fuzzy and cute looking....
.... untill I read that they mark their territory several times per hour, with musk from their anal glands

And being mainly termitivore, giving it a balanced diet would be complicated for keeping it as pet! For this reason they're very uncommon in zoos...

Today, January 23th, is the STS International day of the aardwolf.
You opened this topic just a little before Susanne showing Bonnie's aardwolf!
I really love the pose you've chosen and it is a bold decision to make it with the mane up. It is really hard to get once it looks different in many pictures and it is not easy to find it from other angles.
Not being common in zoos, obviously also not as a pet and without any mediatism, I am afraid this animal will remain obscure forever in toy shape. I hope yours and Bonnie's works give a new visibility to it.

No brand has ever - to my knowledge - daret to make a model of this enchanting creature, and now two three have been borne in the middle of a nasty pandemi.
And they even had this adorable puppy
