Safari 2022 releases... updated with Sahara Desert TOOB

I'll pass on the Stygi. For one, it generally doesn't appeal to me and I am picky with dinos since I am not a dinosaur completist. Secondly, as far as I know, it is still a dubious taxon and possibly just an immature Pachycephalosaurus, and and adult Pachy is all I need.

Love the desert toob, altough I wish the 2 antelopes would be available not only in toob size :)

Okay, I just wanted to say, I think I'll pass on all the Dino Dana thingies that Safari has come out with. I mean, the idea for that sort of collection is a sort of good one, but for me as a collector, it just doesn't appeal to my tastes. You see what I'm saying? I mean, the intentions behind the idea are good, but not all collectors are interested in dino dana as a whole. I wonder though, if they (Safari) will be coming out with anything else for the prehistoric world collection? Now there's a collection of theirs that I have many figures of in my collection. But, on the flip side, if they start doing dinosaurs with moveable jaws, then they will lose me as a dinosaur customer. Anyway, all this goes to say that I have high hopes for Safari, in the quality race I mean. I'm saying, they've already passed Schleich in the quality race, and so far they're pulling way ahead. However, I don't know how they'll do with CollectA on their tail, so to speak, if this is really a race. Anyway, I could post all day about the pros and cons of Safari versus CollectA, but that's a story for another post. Anyway, Í do hope that Safari still goes strong in 2023, and I do hope they have stuff in the works for 2023 too. Also, I'm very excited for the sahara toob, it'll be a great addition to my collection.

The Stygi sculpt is nice, but the paintjob looks like a disease, like smallpox or psoriasis. Or burned with peeled off skin.

But ok, we need also sick dinosaurs.

The last batch, Okapi, Sahara toob, Chinese dragon and Cryolophosaurus are still not on sale, should we really consider them as 2022 models or as the first 2023 models. It's been getting complicated lately...

2022 is their year of production; that is sufficient. According to a Safari contact on another forum, at least the Cryolophosaurus hopes to be out this year

I agree but it was the same in the past, some Safari Ltd models had a gap of one year between their date of production and their date of placing on the market.

I hope they come out soon. I want to make a Safari order but I'm waiting for the Sahara toob and okapi so I can get everything together. I think they should still be considered 2022 releases since they were announced this year. We still have a month and some for them to release in this year. Hopefully soon!

That's a pertinent question, I've been thinking about it myself.
The way we are seeing figures being released this year with Safari Ltd is the way it has always worked, there's no exact point in the year were all figures are released at once. Though, we use to receive in a different way.
In my opinion, some of these figures are officially 2022 releases and a few latter ones are already considered 2023 releases even if they're effectively being released in 2022.
As I am a traditional old guy,I think we should follow what a catalogue introduces as new for the year.
Here is Safari 2022 catalogue and we can see some are listed on it but not all.

I want to add that if those releases here listed are all considered from 2022 even if they not show on 2022 catalogue, it is fine to me. This is surely not a scientific subject and it is easier like that.

I believe your Safari salmon shark is marked 2022, I'm not expecting it to be marked 2023 but could you confirm please. I can't see it on your walk around. What I see is 0422 which refers to the 2022 production batch.

I know and I would love to help you but as you can see from my slightly contradictory consecutive posts, I am far from having a stablished idea. We will also need to get it clear before the figure of the year choices start.

Its available on their website for sale. So it IS a 2022 release.

Safari LTD will release new figures in 2023, same way as they did in 2022. Got confirmation from the Safari LTD Instagram account about this.
