Lead Zoo Collection

This is probably my most cherished piece. It is near mint and boxed.

Wonderful model!!

This crocodile is a masterpiece and it is impressive its condition for an old lead model. Here a good example why it is good to preserve the original box. Thanks for sharing, it pleases me to see figures like these.

Great model in a fantastic condition. I suppose this is the Britains adult crocodile?

Do you know how you can see whether the Britains lead models were made pre- or post-WWII? Is there a difference in how they were painted?

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think post war the painting was more simplistic, and possibly airbrushed in some cases as it appears to be on my Crocodile.

Your collection is really impressive and how incredible these figures survived in such great condition all these years.
I think I was not aware Britains released a walking Indian rhino.

Thanks Roger, that is the young Rhinoceros. My collection still has a long way to go. The amount of figures Britains made was vast.

I am soooooo excited!!!! I have just managed to secure the Britains adult Giraffe. It is complete but the paint is very worn. This is a picture from the listing and is the better looking side. When I receive it I will post some more photos.

Great find! I don't think I've seen this giraffe before. The other giraffe, which I assume must be the young giraffe, seems to be more common.

The ape in the photo after the guenon monkey, is that a gorilla?

Congratulation for the giraffe, probably the rarest Britains lead wild animal with the wildebeest  I would love to see them in real

It is indeed but looks more like a caveman hahaha
