They are great, and rare here in Europe!
Auburn was a manufacturer for car-tyres in the first place, but saw a possibility in toys from the same material, so this is actually vinyl!
some of their models were really good!
This Barbarysheep is one of their best i think...
Thanks to Christophe, i have a nice group of them to! cheers
Like the running hare and the sitting rabbit from your picture.
First they made models in white and brown, later they used very bright colours like this yellow, red and blue... Rolling Eyes

These brands were more criative with fox poses than modern brands! Also some of the modern foxes have very short bodies! :) Wonderful fox!

Yes Rogerio, and that is why i like the old 1950's and 1960's brands so much, because they put some affords in the details of the sculptings!
Maybe one-coloured, but so much character! cheers

Yes Rogerio, that is a true blue gnu indeed, haha... geek
They made good models, and the material is unique of course.
Which manufacturer did make models out of tire-rubber..., only Auburn did to my knowledge! Rolling Eyes

Ok then, that is cleared now, a pigeon.
It would be nice to have Tim from the "other" forum here, as he was an expert on older American figurines.
Maybe one of the members here, who is still on LG, could invite him to come here to... Laughing

So I am here!
Thank you for the nice words. I have all of the different Auburn animals, though not in every color. They started early with hard tire rubber in the 1930s, then went to the vinyl, and finally soft plastic at the end in the 1960s.
It looks like you have many of my favorites.

Than welcome welcome welcome again. lol!
I search for all different species (brand is not important) and so i find this by Auburn. The main animals are not important for me, a few figurines by one brand are enough.
But a wild ass you cant find so much.
Have you please please please some informations about more interesting species by american brands for me?

I soaked my white Arburn animals in Efferendent (a denture cleaning). The animals turned out very white. But the process removed the shiny covering. Any suggestions on what I might use to reseal the rubber and improve the finish?

How many did you give this treatment to?

If not too many, and remembering that pencil erasers (which we call rubbers in the UK) are often open textured when new, but get that shiny covering with age and use, I suggest you try handling them a lot, and the grease from human skin seems to do the job.

Rub them all over when you're clean, but really sweaty! Embarassed Laughing

I suppose you could try hand cream.
