I had to go to my grandma´s house to take some of them, because I don´t have them all at home - I don´t have enough space! But I took them with me again and decided to take pics :)
I can´t wait to see your horses ^^ _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| I would like to show you my old, beloved Reisler horses They aren`t beautyful..some even have broken legs and lots of scratches. But I began collecting them app 55 years ago, so of course a broken leg doesn`t matter I had been in a serious accident and was forced to stay in bed for several months ( Yes, that was how the doctors prescripted theb, back in the Stone Age ). My mom asked visitors to bring me a Reisler animal instead of candy. And as you can see, I still have a lot of those little gems During all the years, when I didn`t play with them, they have lived in this wooden box, nicely tugged in between layers of cotton wool. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When Schleich came to Denmark, I thought they were huge and very clumsy : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The ponies. The pony to the right needs some support, because his leg is broken [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The riding horses. The bay one is a "replacement". My old, bay riding horse has vanished . She had the same colour as the foal. The foal also lost his tail, so fortunately at least I found a replacement Mom for him [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The first Reislers were of a hard, brittel material, and hand painted. Later the manufacturer switched to a much softer material. It didn`t break so easily, but I think it was a terrible shame The old one to the right. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here some of the later ones. The brown one in the back is the old kind. Even if he has lost his tail, I still think he is more "spaciel" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Looking at the huge collections, and all the choices we have now, it is interesting to remember, that when I was 5 years, we could only buy Reisler. And everyone thought I was very spoiled, because I had this huge collection Ok, - now we talk about "Crisis"... Hmmmm |

| Oh Susanne, I think Your horses are beautiful! Ver gracefull and with realistic proportions and movements My favorite are these 2 brown yearlings from the last picture, they remind me one young mare of my friend, also yearling right now, and soo cute Her name is Marina and I sing for her every time I come to brush her, do You know the song: "Marina, Marina, Marina..."? I think Marina the horse already knows it... I will try to take some photos of her during the weekend |

| Horses? Ahh ... we have rather a lot of them! We will have to do this in installments, a few pictures at a time. Maybe we will have finished by Christmas ... ??? OK, we'll start with some of the oldest. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Old metal heavy horses by Britains Ltd. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Old metal riding horses by Britains Ltd. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Old metal horses from blacksmith sets, each with one hoof raised for the smith to work on. Left to right: by Roydon; JoHill; F. G. Taylor and Sons. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And these are old Tipple-Topple composition horses by Pfeiffer of Vienna. (Over maybe eighty years of existance, the white one has been repaired and repainted by loving owners.) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Now for something very different! We collect latex horses, made on wire frames so that their heads and legs can be repositioned. (This only works while they are new ... over time, the latex stiffens up.) We use them in photostories on model horse forums. This horse, Castlerigg Ace of Hearts, was sculpted, cast and painted by Helen Moore, from her "Equorum" 1/9th scale range. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And these are much older 1/12th scale latex horses by the firm "Julip". [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] Most of our photostory pictures include other animals. Some are composition "oldies", some are modern plastics by Papo, Schleich, etc. Sue & Lesley castlerigg |

| Very nice horses Sue & Lesley I don't think I've ever seen the posable horses like that before. Your stories must have a blue police box in them somewhere too I think? _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals
