IMHO, the Schleich rare Pinto is just another over rated Schleich old figure. I simply won't spend so much just to get it because it's not practical at all. Rolling Eyes

The more people are eager to get it, the more it will become pricey. I can already buy 30 new Schleich or even the new better quality CollectA horses for the price of 200 plus Euros.

Well, that's only my opinion. scratch cheers

I talked with Norbert Gneiding of Schleich about this model, there are far more then the 200 that was said by many people! Shocked
They are made in the thousands too... Very Happy
Although, they might be quit rarer, as they are only produced for one year. Idea
So 176 euro for that last one, which is still much to high for it.... Evil or Very Mad

Susanne, Marktplaats is a Dutch auction site. Once you've registered, you can submit bids on auction items, which are received, along with all other bids by all bidders, by the seller. When the seller receives a bid he/she is satisfied with, then that bid is accepted as the winning one.

I know the seller.
He knows exact the noun of the horses and would only sell when he could get a very good prize.
I think in the past he has sold mor figurenes then you have susanne.
And i know, that you have many.
In my collection there are some figurines from him, wich i bought, when is started to collect.

Yes, these auctions can go on for seemingly.....forever!!! Because of the way these auctions are conducted, it's unlikely that you can get a bargain price for a rare item.

Yes, Willy, we know this quandry well - it's that nasty condition known as "human existence"... Wink For every hundred auctions I mark, I probably bid, on average, on ONE of them, so I'm now used to watching the lovely figurines pass me by. Not such a bad thing, though, as it teaches us the value of self-discipline, something I know you understand well from your martial arts training, etc.

This seller auctioning off all of these rarities must have a spectacular collection... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Yes Phil, that is true.
But i have my bad days i have to admitt, specially when it comes to bidding on auctions, and willing to get the d**m thing... Laughing
But at the moment i am quit cool in that matter, i have other things to take care off... Rolling Eyes

It was only made for one year, then they changed the painting into the one that was sold for sevaral years :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

That later one comes in two kinds of painting, one where the dark areas are solid, and one where it is almost like little dots .

Thankyou, Noeska Very Happy
That horse has such a large nose that if you take the picture from the front, it will be all muzzles Laughing
It is also easier to see the colours from behind, I find.

Yes, it is a mad price ! The horses and dogs are the most popular though, and it was made before collecting Schleich became such a widespread hobby.
Also it stands for 200 Euros in Gaschers book, - far, far more than any other figuere, so people WANT it !
(The dark beagle stands for 30 Euros Wink )

Good question Laughing

At first I heard 5000, then 2000, then 500, and now some say 300 in the world. What a Face

But I believe the first is right, because I am stubborn (right Willy?) and because since it was made in 98 a lot of them must have been lost, eaten by pets, thrown out, eaten by children or whatever, - and they are for sale almost all the time, even if a lot of collectors in most countries cling to their hors(es) Rolling Eyes

I don't know if you are stubborn suzy, but there was always said that there were no more then 200 pieces of this particular pinto, which is ridiculous of course! Cool

I mailded with Norbert Gneiding of Schleich about this, and he assured me that there were much more made, although not as much as other models, because it was only made for one year.
But i guess, a few thousand are left anyway, because of the reasons that were mentioned here before.
Damaged by one or the other way...
I knibbled my toy models to when i was a kid, and it was nice to do, but afterwards it was sad to see them damaged... Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes
