Palomino Special is also one of my favorite, and very nice to see Schleich and Stablemate compared! Stablemate looks SO fine And a good size too along with detail it seems. Also better for the shelves and economy than those huge Traditional Breyers.
Breyers anyway, look fantastic! And I love their serious approach to breeds and sculpting accuracy, if just they were not so pricey and smaller... But then there are the Stablemates, that I've first discovered for real recently.. And I'm going to hit their road. And your photo just proves more to me, it's the right way I can't be sure if you already have a stablemate in your hands. But if not, I must say that they belong to a very different kind of figures. They are of a brittle hard plastic and the way they're manufactured doesn't allow these figures of being richly textured. They are fragile and painting is often shiny even when the finish is not properly glossy. Though, they are competently sculpted, good conformation and proportions, beautiful sculpts respecting the general characteristics of a breed or close related group of breeds. The painting is also fine, they use a lot of different equine colors, this one is a rose grey, something that I don't know if was ever used in a major brand. They look more like little jewels than toys. I love and recomend them, but forget Schleich, Mojo or CollectA, they are something really different. |

| Some days ago, a package from Susanne arrived full of wonderful Mojo figures. I want to start with the Mojo emu, a figure that was planned to be released in 2012 but ended as a 2013 release due to manufacturing adjustments. I have to say that I would never be able of seeing how good this figure is without having it in my hands. One of my favorites for 2013, really excelent work from Mojo! The level of detail is supreme! The plastic has a softer feeling when compared with other Mojo figures, probably to turn it more resistent. Curiously, it is pleasant to the touch, mainly on feathered area. The first recently extinct figure from Mojo, a Anna's sculpt, the quagga! Maybe the most wanted mustelid of ever and in a complete family of three! :) Much more I look much more I like. Susanne decided to add two extras. I stopped collecting prehistoric mammals due to wallet things but she decided that I could not live without these two. Oh, and how great they are, I got really impressed with them! Here is the hyaenodon, what a great figure! ... and here the daeodon I know some people wanted it more ferocious, why more? It is a great figure too and specially charming, in real I only have to agree with Susanne, coloring is not the most atractive but we never know how did they look. Another extra from Susanne is this quite cute 2014 Schleich squirrel monkey. My first 2014 figure. Here it is with my Chap Mei squirrel monkey. Some days later, Schleich arrived in local shops and I bought the Eastern chipmunk. (Made in China] Purchased also a figure for my niece, this is terribly cute... incredible! Schleich 2014 donkey foal made in China! :) Then, a package from Yvett arrived! Inside, only gifts, extras and presents! Among others, some Reisler figures. Black panther on log My most wanted Reisler figure of ever, this crazy dromedary! This friendly gorilla. These lovely chimps! And a surprisingly modern looking penguin! From Shawn, also a gift, the discontinued Safari crocodile hatchling hatching. I love it a lot, Safari knows the meaning of educational figures and we should praise it. I love the way the animal is curled with the tail out. To finish my additions, those figures that we shouldn't buy once we don't collect them. But I saw it in a local shop and I couldn't resist, I must be stronger. It is Papo Thoroughbred mare in bay, my pictures are not good but I find it wonderful and it looks very graceful from all angles!!! Again thanks to STS friends, particularly Susanne, Yvett and Shawn, you're all very generous!!!! |

| They all look fantastic And so many nice gifts from great STS folks 'wallet things' A common issue I think. Papo Mare looks amazing! Very Papo-styled, but what's not to love?! I didn't know the Quagga was by Anna, very nice It is a very good choise of specie I think! _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~
