BTW this tray has a few interlopers that are not Britains products. Can you spot them?

Tray 3 includes farm animals, soldiers and other people:


This tray has quiet a few interlopers. Should be easy for STS members to identify them.

Great job, Chris! I am not so used with the brand til the point of identifying them easily from other brands. I think large anteaters are not Britains?

I think perhaps one of the bactrian camels is also not Britains? The not painted one I think?
I don't know the brand of bigger anteaters but I have one like them also in my collection :) Was this Prior maybe?

The camel on the right hand side isn't a Britains product. So good observation here Anna. Now I am sure someone can identify the manufacturer. A clue is that it is "Made in England". :)

Not Prior - think of the originator.

Wolf in tray 3 top centre near the stag's antlers is also a Timpo - cost 12.5p

You are welcome baltimore zoo. I agree that relative scale has its place but current manufacturers seem to disagree!

Current manufactures should take note of Britains and learn a thing or two...

The Japanese toy giant Tomy bought RC2 - owners of Britains in March 2011!

It has only come to my notice a few days ago when I was reading Diecast Collector magazine. There was a competition in which some Tomy Britains tractors were the prizes.

Thank you sauriod for your kind words. Most older Britains products are still relatively easy to find especially on e-bay UK. Plus Tomy Britains still have farm animals listed in their current line up. I was surprised to find that some poses e.g. the pigs are exactly the same as the ones introduced in 1971. Of cause they are now made in China not England. Here is a link:

A mixed flock of sheep breeds from Britains. All these models featured are from 1971 onwards.


The moorland diorama base was made by my Brother-in-Law, Richard Brady, for my 1:43rd scale Land-Rover models. However, it is perfect for 1:32nd scale animal figures.
