yes, smithsonian collection,are large figures and seem real.

Fernando thank you for the photos I bought this Smithsonian insect recently and it arrived today. It's amazing especially since these insects are so hard to find.   

scale is listed as 2:1, as were all the Smithosonian Collection figures.  So it's supposed to be twice life-size. I've never seen a leaf insect as big as this figure, but I'm by no means an authority on their size range. Still, another excellent addition to the collection. In case anyone is interested, the Safari Life Cycle Luna Moth is a 1:1 scale figure, and it is outstanding in quality. Basically, it is just a miniaturized version of the Smithsonian figure, and, as I said, it is life size. I definitely recommend picking it up!
