| I find Schleich's Therizino personally far more aesthetically pleasing, but CollectA's Therizino is actually far more accurate. (p.s. I am in no means an expert on the subject.) |

| Yay Papo finally did a Dilophosaurus! <3 Will be probably getting it, eventhough they have reused a lot of their Allosaur parts in it.
Also, Papo's Archaeopteryx is interesting it its eagle like majesty.
I'm surprised that only Safari will be releasing a Pachy (what a cutie!). Since Pachyrhinosaurus is the main character of the upcoming (wait, it's already in theatres isn't it?) Walking with the Dinosaurs 3D movie, so I'm sure that the figure will be a hit.
And I have to say that I love the colour palettes and patterns that CollectA uses. Though their Therizinosaurus looks like a Muppet or something.... _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

Yeah I know, but I doubt that the Papo staff knew that there will be a movie centered around Pachyrhinosaurs coming up a few years later... So that's why I think that Safari made a clever choice by releasing a pachy now. :) _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

So that's why I think that Safari made a clever choice by releasing a pachy now. :) Of course Papo probably didn't know, but we can't say Safari Ltd made a clever choice than Papo. Papo can't make it now since it is already made, it is not a choice ;) No, but there are other brands than Papo, I wasn't referring to them because they have made one not long ago. So I was just wondering why Safari (from the brands that haven't released a pachyrhinosaurus recently) was the only brand. And by the way... Since Papo is known to use popular culture references (like Jurassic Park) in their figures, I actually think that Disney's 3d animated movie Dinosaur has been a huge inspiration when Papo decided to make a pachyrhinosaurus. The movie features pachys (that look very similar to the Papo one) as background dinosaurs. And also, Papo's rendition on Parasaurolophus looks very similar to the ones in the Disney movie (posture and colorwise). I'm just interested in the reasons for brands choosing to release figures and the strategy behind them. And I love to analyse them... _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

Maybe it is clever to make one now than to forget it ? I can understand. But when a brand already made it, it can't change the past, clever or not. Papo and CollectA are the only brand without a wolverine model. If a "wolverine" blockbuster will appear in 2015, it will be clever for these two companies to make one. For the others, yesterday will never come again. |

For the others, yesterday will never come again. ;) First of all, since I hate to be misinterpret to I'd like to make my point clear... Still, I wasn't talking about Papo when I wrote my first reply to this, but the companies that HADN'T already made one and chose not to release one now. I'd like to point out that I wasn't the one who said it was somehow wiser to release this and that figure now than a company who had already released one. Actually I wasn't even comparing Safari to any brand, I was just stating like "Good choice, Safari!" and wondered why the other brands didn't see the movie as an opportunity. Since pachyrhinosaurus is one of the lesser known dinosaurs, the film will sure make them more known among children. I was happy that the makers of the movie decided to choose a fairly unknown dinosaur to be their main character, instead of the "safe" ones like apatosaurus, trike, stegosaurus etc. I don't know anything of the Papo sales, though I'm sure that their pachy isn't their best seller dinosaur, probably the t-rex is.. But I'm sure that the sales for Papo pachyrhinosaurus will rise now the movie is released. Though the WWD 3D has some really nice merchandice figures too. (I just had to purchase a few of their blind bags, and got one of the pachys and troodon...) Since wolverines aren't already "kids' favourites", if a wolverine movie (not the X-men character lol) comes up, I still think it will be a wise choice to release a wolverine figure when the film is released, if the company already doesn't have one. Though, if a company is only targeting towards unique species collectors, things like that shouldn't matter that much. Simple business strategy is to keep your eyes open and find out what's going on in other areas that will surely affect on toy sales. :) _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com
