It was very important not to over exaggerate the size and shape of the horns here so whilst they are big they are not as big as they can sometimes get. This sculpt should represent a good healthy mature bull Very Happy

Is there a Komodo Dragon also in the line-up? He'd fit well with his favourite food! Very Happy

Here are photos of the Buffalo in comparison with the Schleich Cape Buffalo and Ana's lovely Gaur. These should be the right size with Gaur being the largest and the Schleich buffalo the smallest (out of the three species).

I'm in heaven. If I could have only one model, by any company, in 2014, this would be it. I've been waiting for a Water Buffalo for years and this version is lovely. Sooooo happy. Thank you Numaan, for these extra pictures!!

I did put some clues out there in another discussion and some of you guessed right (including you Roger!) but I had to keep my mouth shut. You are all too intuitive these days, far more than ever before

Note that this sculpt is modeled on a beautiful photo of a Wild water buffalo from the Kazirangha national park in India. It is one of the last remaining herds of truly wild buffalo in Asia and the Kazirangha is only a handful of hotspots on Indian soil where these magnificent beasts are free to roam. These look very different from the common domesticated form and are now very much endangered due to poaching, disease from domestic cattle and inter-breeding with other domestic buffalo. I hope this species can be saved!

That's right, I knew it. The pure wild Indian water buffalo is like that because it has nothing to do with the domestic one that is in Australia and Indonesia on the Komodo islands. This is the real wild water buffalo I agree I also have it and it is really beautiful realistic
