James, if you could, would you tell us how many figures are supposed to be released this year?

That is very interesting that this zebra can fit a subspecies. I was convinced it was a Damara zebra of the now invalide taxon Equus quagga antiquorum. Though, I also like your suggestion and it increases my interest in that figure. Below a Damara zebra...

This is offical a Chapman-Zebra ( antiqurorum). The offical Damara-Type has complety unstriped legs.
By they way-there are ONLY two TRUE subspecies of the Plains zebra-the eastern and the southern subspecis. And this is defenitely a southern Plains Zebra. In Southafrica, there are mixed herds with both-Damara-AND Chapman-Type-so it is the same-some have striped, and some have white legs-thats it.

The Damara zebra has "shadow" stripes which I believe only Noah's Pals' Zebras have.

I don't NEED another zebra but zebras and lions are the only animals where I can't have enough of them, if the replicas are of good quality. So, it's on my wish list :-)

It still has some flaws, but generally, I have to say it's one of the best zebra models currently available (OK, scheduled to be available ).

Nice reading all your comments about several zebra subspecies. It is always confuse because sometimes taxonomists are more interested in pijamas than in real differences. OK, no shadow strips, so a crawshay's zebra sounds nice for me and as I said, turns even more tempting for me to get it. Great also to see the nice hindquarters of that figure in additional pictures. Very good!!!

Wait a minute... are the ears turned different ways? That little detail makes me like this guy a whole lot more! Like he really is listening to hungry lioness's tummy rumbling from the one thread over...

Yes, zebra seems suspicious that there are more predators beyond lioness. Come on zebra, come to hide in the river!
