1:22 scale Bull Indian Elephant

Here is my latest creation, a 1:22 scale model of one of the most impressive elephants ever, Siam from Paris zoo, deceased in 1997.  I didn't get to see this elephant in real life but I gathered many old photos from the internet and watched old video footage to make my replica of this impressive tusker.

The model still needs some touch up paint work but it is progressing nicely.
The animal was 10.5 ft tall so my model is 14.5cm tall at 1:22 scale.

That is the best piece of yours I've seen yet. It's "most beautiful and most wonderful". I especially like the paintwork and the way the tusks are not symmetrical.

I just can't get over how real your miniatures are Andrew, it really looks as though it would be quite normal for the model to start walking! You have an amazing skill.

Each time I watch your last model I think it is the best elephant replica I ever seen in my life, and each time the one which comes after is better   

This week, I saw a documentary about Siam on a French TV channel and now this magnificent elephant is walking on STS. Thank you for that

Florian, Pege: Thank you both for you compliments.  This is actually a 3D model I sculpted in the computer then had printed, I will do a bit of fixes to it then I will have it available for sale so people can order copies and paint them themselves.

Thank you Christophe, that documentary sounds very interesting.  By chance, was it this documentary that shows his life story and then how the Paris museum prepared his hide for taxidermy?

By the way, I read you were planning some 3D prints. I hope you will make it hollow; Shapeways is very expensive with "plenty" models. Also, will you make a 1:32 Siam?

Thanks for the information on the documentary, I hope to see that one day too, it looks very interesting.
I will offer my models in 1:32 scale as well, I just need to resize them (they will be hollow too to save on cost).
Yes Siam will be offered in 1:22 and 1:32 when I get some free time to fix up the model.
