| Ooh, what a beautiful bird! I've never seen one in the flesh, apparently it doesn't live this far north and I guess woodpeckers aren't very sociable in any case. |

| Oh, yes, of course, Harriet. They are the great ones that I get here. They have the red belly ( to the right male and young bird) :  The lesser woodpecker is only 15 cm long, I just read. I got confused because they are so much smaller than the black one, that I have also seen now and then  So I already learned something today  What a lovely photo you show us, - is it from your garden ? |

| Oh I'd love to see a black one  Yes, that photo was taken looking out of the lounge window, that's the male as he has a red head, the male and juveniles have red on their heads, the female just has a black head.

| Really nice birds! I have been searching for the bullyland gull for a long time now, the only gull i have been able to find is the Japanese ChocoQ black billed gull (link below). The Bullyland Raven is one of my favorite figures (I have 3 of them), although it does look more like a carrion crow then the raven. I had a to search for a year to find the schleich raven but finally got that as well.
