Welcome back, Westie! Hope you had a nice vacation!

Hi, from Westie cheers He is so happy with people greeting him Laughing

You are right, Bullyland is different, - the colours of the later ones is not glossy, and they feel lighter and softer than most others.
It takes some time to get used to them.

They position on the market themselves as environmentally friendly, which is fine with me Very Happy

Thanks, Rio Very Happy

I bought him at MPV, - perhaps, if there are several of you in USA who want to buy him, you could go together to save shipping ?

And I also like the breed marking, but I´m not sure it´s well done. El Santo is suposed to be a Rhinelander, a modern warmblood breed (http://www.greenacres-stud.com/rhinelander.htm), whose breed marking is this:

http://www.greenacres-stud.com/rhinelanderbrand.htm

Anyway, the horse is absolutely fantastic!

Hmmm, it looks as if the tool making the mark on mould of the figuere has slipped to the side scratch

Yes! I didin´t know how to say that, thank you :) It´s very similar, but strange.

Great new figurines Susanne!
I specially love the Eohippus, the first ancestor of the horse-family.

This Bullyland gazelle is not easy to define as a species, but a springbuck is far of anyway...
It has the outside looks of a Thompsons gazelle, which stood model for this one i think, but as the colours don't fit, so i named it a Grants gazelle... Rolling Eyes Laughing

PostSubject: Three new Bullyland dinoes Velociraptor, triceratops and Spinophorosaurus :-)   Susanne's Bullyland additions - Page 7 EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 9:05 am

Last week I got the older, RED Velociraptor from Bullyland, here he is with his paler friend :
Susanne's Bullyland additions - Page 7 Velo2

His tail is a little bent from the jurney, but it is slowly straighening out Laughing

Here the 3 of them, - funny how different he looks with feathers on Laughing
Susanne's Bullyland additions - Page 7 Velo3

I also got the triceratops :
Susanne's Bullyland additions - Page 7 Tridino

And last, but not least, the spinophosaurus.
This one was made by Bullyland for the Staatliches Naturhistoriches Museum in Braunschweig.
A team from this museum discovered him in Niger in Africa.as late as in 2009 study
Susanne's Bullyland additions - Page 7 Spinophosaurus

Perhaps one of dino-experts can tell more about him ? Very Happy

Oh, you've found the spinophorosaurus!!! I wanted it a lot some time ago but postages and so lowered my interest! This is a special figure as you know, I confess I love exclusive figures! It is also one of the examples that Bullyland is highly considered for experts, in Germany I think this is one of 4 or more Museum exclusive figures made by Bullyland something not seen often in other brands!
You are really a hard collector and your prehistoric collection is achieving standards that makes many collectors of dinos die of envy! Wink
Also the different velociraptors is a very interesting group, Bullyland updates its prehistoric figures when relevant informations are added to the knowledge of a species! When scientists started talking about feathered dinos like the velociraptor, Bullyland started the project of a updated velo! Some of other brands don't care with it because in some popular tv series, the velociraptor was still represented without feathers and these brands won't start a new project because they are affraid of decreasing in sells!
Bullyland is a serious brand even many collectors don't think so!
Congratulations Susanne! cheers cat

Thankyou, Roger, my good croc-friend alien sunny flower

It was actually you who made me aware of this great figuere Wink
For me it would be an uphill struggle without you, because I still do not know so much about them.

Mihnea and Christophe are our great teachers and history-tellers here, but I would not mind if we had some more dinoes on our forum, showing the new special editions etc.

Thankyou, Martien flower yes perhaps I should look some more at the dinotoys forum even if I am so fond of our good, little STS-village-forum scratch study

Heeey, the old raptor doesn't have pronated hands! Way to go Bullyland! cheers They're both a lot nicer than I'd expected - I must admit I've never really looked at/for this mold because the Bakkerific deinonychus overshadows them somewhat, but they're really pretty dang good for their time. I have the feathered version and love him (even if he has issues of his own). Very Happy

It's the positioning of the hands. Pronated means palm down -"kangaroo hands". We now know all theropods (and most other dinosaurs) had their hands angled so that the palms were facing one another - sadly, few models get that right.
