Thanks, I am glad you like Albina
You may well be right about the Safai-PRE, - or the persons to approve the design changed it before production. BEC (blueyed cream) is not often considered nice. As you probably know, they are excluded from the stud books in several breeds. Funny thing is, that Schleich`s "Andaluser"-mare has the same colour , - and her foal looks like a buckskin.
But Schleich`s Camargue-mare also has cream mane, and to the best of my knowledge they are grey, not BEC.
Maybe it is just lack of research Hum... Maybe you´re right :) I will have to study more the Grey gene action. I´ve always thought it´s one of the most difficult colors of horses! It has a very big variabiluty. About cream coats, until few years ago they were not accepted at PRE studbooks, for example. But they are accepted now, in fact, cream coats are more expensive than "normal". Double cream dilution coats have nearly always blue eyes, and are those coats the most wanted now. About ponies and horses, well, there are some differences. An arabian horse is ALWAYS a horse, even if it´s under 1,48. And a Welsh pony is ALWAYS a pony, even if it´s over 1,49. But sometimes in competition the classification is not based on the breed, it´s based on the size; then a little arabian horse could compete with poneis, and a big welsh could compete with horses. At least is what I know, or what I think I know. Przewalsky horses are small, but they are HORSES :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

Przewalsky horses are small, but they are HORSES :) That is it ! Thanks, Sylvia. As is the Fjord and other breeds, - the Mongols would probably be very surprised if they heard anybody call their horses ponies, or maybe they couldn`t care less The concept "pony" is really a British word for smaller horses. For competition a measure was needed to give fair play, but it does not make the old, natural horses ponies Lacey, that silver dappeled horse is just STUNNING ! Not only the colour, but the power and personality that he radiates And a great herd of andalusian repaints, great jobs |

| That silver buckskin is really beautiful! And I also love the spikesilkenwolf´s dark bay (I like the pinto too but PREs don´t have pinto patterns and I want mine realistic) Hum... Now I don´t know what coat could I choose!

| I've missed this topic! Susanne Sylvia and Lacey, I don't understand nothing about horses! But, Torben, I know a lot of German standards! see it... The chiks of King penguins are Emperor Penguins, jaguars are leopards and leopards are jaguars. Female ostriches has the same colour of male ostriches, macaws are parrots, crocodiles have 5 toes in bac legs, etc, etc! If you want more German standards please send me a pm! Susanne, don't let your wonderful Albina learn Deutch! |

| Since I've found this thread, I thought I'd add walkaround photos of mine. Miniatures again [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm going to repaint him, he has some serious rubs, but I was planning to do this anyway I'm thinking about either bay (regular or dark) or white grey (with more or less dappling). But I won't be doing it anytime soon. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |
