What about Mom`s knitting? Table knives? Matches? Sticks in the garden, dogs, corners on furniture, staircases, ...cars, plastic bags, scissors,..... etc, etc

Yeah it's surprisingly cheap. I think I'm gonna hold off until TGF or ReallyGreatToys post them.

In my view , the soft and rubbery plastic models have a slight edge over the hard plastic models . I don't think the details are lacking in the rubbery plastic models. Infact, the very reason I am too much obsessive on AAA , vintage schleich models and Bullyland ones is for their vintage touch and materials used .

I also like the latex type texture of some old schleichs - Prairie bison [ oldy ] ....I just love it

I like them a bit rubbery also.
For the first time in my long time as a collector of Schleich, I got a horse, where the leg was broken in transport even if it was well packed !!!!!!!

The older models NEVER broke, I think you need a hammer to break them, - and then that may even not be enough

Shocking to hear this news Susanne I agree the older and oldest schleichs were of great quality till the year 2007 . Schleich seems to be little miserable from 2008 onwards . First of all , the made in China concept should be completely curtailed in Schleich 's history .

My Oryx arrived today and he is indeed, very big! He was worth the wait but a bit more beige than I expected.

I got my oryx yesterday, and despite his larger size--he is georgeous! here are some pics compared to Harriet's wonderful Oryx. At certain angles, they look the same size. But they are not.
