Sweet horses! That buttermilk buckskin Jonas did is yummy.. as is Olympia, to say the least. I do so like striking customs like that one - you're a lucky collector indeed to have got him. Also, yay for Jonas for committing into the model trade scheme with such obvious gusto!

I wonder if that's in the mold or after it was cast?

That looks like a "mere" rub on the very surface layer of the paint and perhaps underlying plastic; a kind of a scrape from a sharpish, broad bladelike surface. It does not look like a molding issue to me.
